If you can get past the headaches, after that it's all mind over matter. You don't have a choice when you're dropped into the middle of nowhere and told to survive and evade .

48 hours during a military campaign. There was no time available to eat or sleep, then had to eat a MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) cold since there was no time available to even heat it up under the circumstances. They are not enjoyable even warmed up, let alone straight out of the package, but it kept me going for another 12 hours.

Well hope you got a kill out of that.
6 days for me while in a coma.

3-4 hours. Never miss a meal

quote:I call it the “naked and afraid” or “alone diet”. Anyone that necessarily has to lose weight there’s no quicker way than fasting. Insane how much weight those people lose in such a short period of time and it is evident from seeing their experiences on those shows the hunger pains go away after the first several days as many times they end up going a week plus without anything at all without tapping.
i went 20 days without eating in 2018. water fasting FTW. the people who said you don't really feel hunger are correct. after 2-3 days, it gets REALLY easy. the key is to keep your mind busy, either with work, or activities/hobbies
i did it to lose some weight, and it just melted off like crazy in 20 days. lost about 40 pounds. best part about it was that it was super easy, pretty much free, and didn't require me to keep track of macros and other food groups

I’ve done regular fasts from 5 pm Friday to 12 pm Monday. In fact, I’m going to start again soon. Focuses the mind and the suffering makes you humble.

For me, 61 hours was the longest but I don't do long fasts like this anymore. It's not a contest.
I fast to clear the stored fat out of my liver and when I hit 19 hours, I can tell from my blood glucose reading that the liver is clearing. At 18 hours the glucose is still normal, but one hour later it drops off the table.
Any longer than 19 hours (for me - everyone is different) and I'm using adipose (stored body) fat. If you want to lose weight, especially belly fat, this is when it gets done. The metabolism has no other source of fat. I lost 19 pounds the first two weeks I started fasting and it never came back.

How much weight did you lose?
I believe about 28-30 lb. People at work thought I was ill but the only people I told what I was doing were my immediate family and 2 close friends.

When I was in my younger years I would sometimes go 3 or 4 days without eating. I just wasn’t hungry. When I did eat, I could sit down and eat a 22 oz porterhouse steak, fully loaded baked potato, and lots and lots of buttered rolls … then I would be good for a few more days.
I have always been good about listening to my body. However, with age the body becomes -schizophrenic and all the voices get confusing.

Ate at Kokopelli's and didn't get hungry again.
I easily believe this. A Kokopelli’s burrito was the size of a football.

I do a 24 hr fast once a week. 40 might be my longest, somewhere in that range.

Dinner to lunch is probably the longest I’ve gone. 18 hours or so

Prior to my first colonoscopy

I did a 72 hour fast. My blood glucose level went down to 40. I've done several fasts over 60 hours. Hunger is never a problem because I don't eat carbohydrates.

A blood glucose level of 65 or lower is considered hypoglycemic, which is quite dangerous. Be careful.

I skipped lunch one time. Almost killed me
Wont be doing that again
