I started getting it today.
No, everyone is not rich.

What you’re seeing is the middle and upper working class being priced into poverty… the destruction of the working middle class.

You will own nothing and you will like it.

It’s like AI and the education system. Math is racist. Many can’t even count change. Cursive writing is about to be extinct- therefore, those “ancient” texts (think founding documents) will be illegible. Critical thinking skills among the younger are almost extinct…. In walks AI to fill the void.

Scary as hell… “Idiocracy” predicted it all.
Thanks for the effort of looking. However, the stitching on the webbing is different.
I’m definitely learning. Until a few years ago I was never into baseball. It was too slow for my taste. I did not appreciate the fact it’s a “thinking” game. I have an absolute respect and appreciation for the game now.
I looked it up.
1. Thank you. It’s awesome.
2. Not the same glove.

Here’s the link.
LINK
quote:

The glove has patent number(s) on it USD140859 a google search resulted in a patent for it filed Feb 8, 1945 by Archibald J. Turner for Wilson Athletic Goods Mfg. There’s a sketch in the patent as well looks identical to your glove.

I see “Patents-D-14-859.
That’s short for “USD?”

Thanks for the info. I’m gonna go search.
Yeah, that pretty much sums up what he was told. It’s sad. I get it but it’s still sad.
This boy, at 4 years old, was just in love with baseball. He would watch the games on tv. Literally fall asleep with his glove. Get out by himself and work on his batting and throwing. He’s truly a rare breed that has a deep passion - and yes, his parents are amazing and supportive.

The only sad thing I heard was a comment his agent told him about professional baseball (agent used to play). He said once it becomes a job they drive the passion out of you and it kills the love for playing…. But, he’s 17. He can worry about that when the time comes. We foster the love for the game.
Thank you everyone for the leads, and a special thank you to deeprig9 for taking the time to post the photos for me. You guys are awesome.
Thank you. That is reassuring.
From the article:
quote:

Although there were nearly 100 glove design patents from 1920 to 1957, none were as revolutionary as Wilson’s new glove. In spring training 1957, Wilson introduced a glove designed mostly by the players.

According to the first reference in the 1958 Wilson catalog: “The glove, known as the A2000, has a bigger, longer pocket…the ball stays trapped and caught, yet easy to retract for your split-second throw. That’s the amazing Snap-Action feature! The deep, sewed-in, Grip-Tite pocket allows No Rebound! That ball just can’t pop out again!”

So it’s definitely pre 1957.

Who knew baseball gloves could be so fascinating?
I will go find it the article now. thank you.
I did but the stitching on the webbing of the glove you posted is different than the one we picked up.

LG and Samsung both suck. Bought the Samsung W/D set (about $6K for the set). Lasted about 5 years. Replaced with GE set for about $1,500 and been kicking for about 4 years now.
Awwww…. Thank you.
He’s a special guy.
Junior in high school. 17 y/o. Pitcher throwing 94 MPH balls with extreme accuracy. Full ride ball scholarship to Auburn. Invited to many showcases with many MLB scouts there. Many agents chasing him. Due to age restrictions (I don’t understand it all) agents can’t pay him for anything, and Alabama does not permit NIL deals in high school), but he’s unofficially signed with one and his parents will be paying to fly him out for their training.
This kid is just unique.
