Can he honestly do your yard mow, weed eat, and blow?

Yea, he's pretty big for his age. He's probably 5'5.

I mean, it's a riding mower...

He does ours. I usually weed eat while he mows so it gets done quicker. But he has done both before.

Pretty sure he gets alot more tired playing soccer for an hour straight.

You also understand that you are pushing to get your kid to make $20+ an hour right? He aint gonna do shite around the house anymore for you at that pay rate unless its damn good money or incentive.

I explained to him a long time ago that you don't get paid for house chores. I don't get paid, neither does he.

He gets money if he makes good grades.

I use to pay a kid $40 to cut our grass but their parents were crack heads so I would give him stuff he wanted too. I'd pay a lawn service but they want you to sign contracts where you pay them year round $80 a week, I am not doing that. I started my kid on it so he can do it for room and board!

I'm on almost 2.5 acres with a pond in Zachary. Paying a lawn service $200/cut biweekly. Was the same quote on 3.8 acres a few years ago.

Just for a ballpark # on the dudes that do it for a living since someone mentioned like $100 for the first acre for a 12 year old lol.

We pay $40 to a 13 year old that picks up our golden doodles turds, mows, bags the cut grass, weed eats, and blows off the driveway and sidewalk. Takes him about 2 hours to do our yard, so basically $20 an hour.

My buddy started out cutting a couple yards for extra spending money. Quit his regular job and he now has 4 crews and does mostly commercial work. Lives very nicely.

Thought I might update on this.

He got two yards that have been paying him 75 a piece.

Riding mower.

Smallest is an acre.

Nobody edges, just weed eat, and maybe blow off stuff.

I'd suspect a professional would charge 80-100 for this size lot; but they have insurance, trucks, trailers, commercial equipment. I'd think you'd have to be below the professional rate.

I would pay him the same as I would pay an adult. Company rates are all over the place right now.

Not really applicable for 12 year old, except for comparison to what an adult might charge.

The Villages, FL; about 0.225 acre; complete lawn care, $2,100/year. I did it all myself for a while, but decided I had rather play golf or bridge.

Give your son my best wishes. I cut grass in my neighborhood in the early 1950s.
