This. Moved from Rankin County, MS to the Des Moines area 5 years ago. Folks up here think I am nucking futs when I say I prefer Iowa winters to Mississippi summers, but it’s true. The heat and humidity are unbearable in the summer down there. And while, yes, it’s freezing up here, you can stay home, inside, drink coffee and avoid people except when absolutely necessary. Plus, I don’t start cutting the grass until late April or early May, and usually by the beginning of October, I make that last cut of the season.

I said it once. I went to the Bama/Miami Sugar Bowl in ‘93……I hated myself for a while after. I don’t hate myself as much for wanting this to be over. Not that I want Bama to win. I just want this to be over…..

Year 1, yes of course. Year 2? I’m not expecting a Natty by year 2, but they damn sure better at least be in the CFP conversation for a good part of the year.
