re: Office Barry thread - Significant Flooding Potential - NOLA1128
ScaryClown
My power initially went out around 6:30. It came on about 9:50 for about thirty minutes, after reporting and seeing a truck working on it. So explain that one to me. What, after 9:30, has rendered the conditions unsafe in the Baton Rouge area? They were out before, w...

re: Office Barry thread - Significant Flooding Potential - NOLA1128
And if we are arguing about repairs versus the initial problem, then there’s a miscommunication. There’s absolutely no reason for EBR to have the outages it has now, regardless of whether you believe a linesman should be out no or not. At 2am (per TD reports on this thread), there was NOTHING war...
I wouldn't get inside a boom bucket with gusts that can toss my ass, which we've had off an on out here in Central
As I mentioned before, I don’t have any interest in putting someone else’s life in danger for my comfort. My complaint originally is about Entergy and their infrast...

re: Office Barry thread - Significant Flooding Potential - NOLA1128
I’ll pray for you while I sleep with my AC in New Orleans tonight
You enjoy. I have no issue with not putting line workers out there when it is not safe. My issue comes with how in the hell power in EBR Parish has been out for anyone since around 2am (based off of TD reports). ...
ScaryClown
I have no interest in endangering anyone. I’m a former Marine, so let’s not play that game. It’s just the matter of fact that something was ruled “unsafe” when there has been nothing going on. Sure, tonight with the expectation from the start being the worst of Barry fo...
the guy helping with the tarp isn't handling power lines, champ
100% agreed. Yet, at the same time, what conditions in the Baton Rouge area have warranted it being “unsafe”. Tonight was always the issue. That doesn’t explain the previous 18 hours, with nothing....
Man I know it sucks to be without electricity for that long, but I think 30+ mph gusts and rain is pretty much the definition of unsafe
And I get that, but at the same time when a tree service is up in bucket trucks all day around my area (including me helping throw a tarp over a r...

re: Office Barry thread - Significant Flooding Potential - NOLA1128
So just got off the phone with Entergy. For those of us baws without power in the BR area, the local Entergy office marked the area unsafe (at least near Siegen and Perkins), so no trucks are out, and nothing will come until they are “safe” to do so. Again, I appreciate the work the guys working...

re: Anyone else sort of feel unexcited about the upcoming season? - NOLA1128
As a season ticket holder, when the invoice came in this year I sat down and actually had to think long and hard about it. If it wasn’t Drew’s (likely) last season, I’m not sure I would have renewed. It feels like, at least in terms of what our boys can do in New Orleans, we were at the pinnacle....

re: Any reviews from Pot & Paddle Jambalaya Kitchen... - NOLA1128
We used the one in Denham to cater for a wedding shower about three months ago. It’s not something you’d be parading around as the best jambalaya in the world, but it’s damned good (especially for the price, and options for protein). Came with beans, salad and rolls as well. I’d highly recomme...
