I am not sure anything is stupid as a category but I have a laundry list of things I spend stupid money on stupidly. The one that stands out by bending sanity the most is screwdrivers. I have two 27" top boxes dedicated almost exclusively to screwdrivers and bit holders. Over 500 fixed drivers and maybe 40 ratcheting and fixed bit holders. I'll let pictures show the descent into insanity.

I take my youngest daughter to those expensive soap stores every month and buy a bunch of stuff. Soap bars, sprays, bath bombs, you name it. She loves it.

Audiobooks. I know I could just use the Libby app and check them out, but I don't like waiting, and having a time limit to listen to the book. Found the 24 credits per year Audible account to be the best value.
Does your library have Hoopla?
Hoopla plus Libby plus Amazon Music Premium (gives me a monthly Audible borrow) gives me everything I need. I have Amazon Music Premium bc I prefer it over Spotify generally. And Spotify’s audiobook program is time limited. I tried it but accidentally fell asleep without setting sleep timer. Book gone. Can’t go back and listen until next month.

I'm looking for a brass tip screwdriver. I know there is got to be one in there somewhere.
I actually don't, but I don't have occasion to work on that sort of sensitive equipment. I do have ESD-safe screwdrivers, stainless steel screwdrivers (for use on SS fasteners), and hollow ground screwdrivers for gunsmithing and other things where a flat blade is needed for a screw that is decorative.
I also have a ton of very fine precision screwdrivers for watchmaking but that is a whole different subject of insanity.

I don't why more people don't take better care the securing hardware on firearms. I guess that is something that is a big deal with me.
Brass tip screwdrivers. I had an owner ask me if I would calibrate the standby (wet) compass in his Cessna Skyhawk. (Steel blades won't work as the indicated heading will deflect as soon as the blade gets close the adjustment screws.) I quickly fab'd one out of a piece of brass stock and the tip of a broom handle and worked just fine and many years later, I still have it and serves as a good memory.
