Real life happened to me. I was drinking, doing shots with two gals. One was hot and the other 300 pounder. I don't remember leaving but came to the next morning on the bedroom floor of the 300 pounder in water from the busted water bed.

When I found out my girlfriend (at the time) was lying about being on the pill.
Dumped her immediately and had sleepless nights for a few months.

On this very night ten years ago, in a dense fog just like this, I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound....like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building! And when they finally pulled the driver's body from the burning, twisted wreck, it looked like this!

That was the worst accident I ever seen.

I was seized by a deep feel of dread just short of panic and would stop every so often to look back and listen to the dead silence of the forest. Fearing I was being stalked.

The fear that had overwhelmed me in those woods, has remained in me to this day

Mine is similar to this and just like you it was a place I had been before so I was familiar with my surroundings. Running a squirrel dog through the woods along the Wolf River. A thunderstorm was about to roll in so winds are really picking up and thunder and lightning are a few miles off but moving closer. I'm right along a river and and there's huge wind gusts so the woods should have been extremely noisy with trees shaking, twigs snapping, leaves falling, etc. The trees are all blowing around but somehow it's eerily quiet and I could hear something I can only describe as a low mumbling sound and I'm overcome with dread and panic. My dog had stopped hunting completely and every time I stop walking he stops walking. He's staying within 5 feet of me and not leaving my side which is very out of character for him and storms don't bother him. I had two possible directions I could go to get back to the truck. I continued on the trail the way I was going because it was a little quicker but the more I walked the more the dread and fear set in and the sound seemed to get louder. I took out my pocket knife because it was the only weapon I had. I finally spoke back to whatever 'it' was and said. 'Ok! I'm sorry! We'll leave now.' I have never tried to converse with nature and I certainly wasn't on drugs or anything like that. I was just scared out of my wits. When I turned around to go back the way we came something pushed me in the back. Not like a forceful push but like an open handed slap to my shoulder blade. Told myself it was a limb falling from a tree due to the wind gusts. Took a few steps away then took a deep breath and turned around with my knife ready to defend myself. There was nothing there. No limb or twig, no pecan or debris on the trail of any kind that could've fallen and hit me on the back of my shoulder like that. I love being in the woods. Hunting, hiking or just training my dog. Dad used to take me out to deer hunt deep in the MS Delta woods at 5am as young as 13 and I'd fall asleep on the ground midridge in the dark and then wake up and hunt at first light. Not trying to sound tough just saying I've never been afraid out in the woods alone. I actually prefer it. I walked out of the woods double time that day and I was absolutely terrified. The hair on my neck has stood up multiple times just typing this out. Like you said, that feeling of absolute dread is something I will never forget.

When I was 18, a buddy and I roomed together for a few months in a trailer that was his dads. As being this age, we would drink Milwaukee's Best and eat frozen pizza that was going to go bad, and his workplace was going to throw it away. His parents bought him a bed with an antique headboard. I roomed in the 2nd bedroom, but I just had a mattress. So he sleeps on this bed, and he dreams that he's in a candlelit room- he's about to marry someone in a veil. Only, he knows that there is something awful behind the veil, and she moves closet to him, her face obscured by the veil in the candlelight. Then he wakes up. We (friends that would always stay) gave him a hard time about it. Flash forward to him taking a trip for a week. He says I'm welcome to the bed if I want it. So, I nap in there after work. I dream I'm on a foggy shore. Off in the distance, I see this body that's in a wedding gown that is, little by little, floating toward the shore with every wave crash. I can't leave, and I know that when this body makes it to shore, I DO NOT want to be there to see it, The dread is intense. I finally wake, and get the hell off the bed and back to my room. I don't recall anything else happening, but I know we always chalked it up to the old, old headboard.

In high school, my girlfriend and I went to a local state park that had a lake, beach and two story beach house. I practically lived there during the summer - but this was out of season and totally deserted. We walked the trail around the lake and ended up at the beach near where our car was parked. We were the only people there.

We walked past the fence and went up the beach to the beach house. It was two stories with a big open pavilion on the second floor that could be rented to groups. To get to the top there was a large wide cement stair case in the middle of the structure. Typically I’d go up the stairs and around the fence at the top to get to the car. Again…been there hundreds of times.

When we got to the foot of the stairs I had an intense dread come over me as I looked up the stairs. I stopped and did NOT want to go up there. I didn’t say anything and was trying to process what was going on and my girlfriend said “I don’t want to go up there, let’s go around”. We went back down the way we came and took a wide path around the building and back to the car.

When we got away from the building she told me she felt a sense of dread - same as I did.

I don’t know why but we both felt the same thing independently at the same time. Very weird that I still remember clearly. I’ll always wonder what was up those stairs at the time.

I also remember years ago a guy posted a story about he and his wife running out of their house after seeing a portal opened up in their kitchen and shadow people screaming at the them. From what I remember the guy was actually a reputable poster and specifically said he didn’t care if anyone believed him. I might ask chat gpt to find that post.

lsufaninbama or something like that.

And later in that thread he also said he had a picture. But he never returned to the thread, so who knows what he was on about. I always wished he had posted that picture though.

ETA: Nevermind...I see you found it. We need to get him in this thread and see if he still has the picture and can post it.

Looks like he hasn't posted in a long time. Another poster once told a story where he was waiting outside to go into a FQ restaurant. He saw an odd figure walking down the street and it was like it was blinking in and out moving down the street. That one always interested me

I had just moved into an old rental house in Tuscaloosa and my gf, now wife, helped me move my stuff. We took out just the mattress and ordered a pizza on the floor of my bedroom. We are just laying around about to fall asleep when we both heard someone outside say "hello". I looked at her and we both heard it. I went outside to check and didn't see anyone.

We didn't have anything else happen, but several months later I went to restroom which was outside of the bedroom in the hall way, I saw a little girl in an all white dress standing at the end of the hallway. I thought I was dreaming and really didn't think much of it. A couple nights later my wife saw the same thing. She mentioned it to me the next day kind of passively telling me what she saw. I told her I saw the exact same thing in the exact same spot. We never saw it again, but from then until we moved out a few months later we both always got eerie feelings in that old house.

The amount of people who see ghosts or dark figures in their room and just go back to sleep is shocking to me! I would be not sleeping and moving.

After my wife saw it, I then freaked out. I hated being in that damn house alone.

My first birthday after my husband passed away, I woke up with a bandaid on my leg. It wasn’t crumpled, it was perfect. I pulled it off and there wasn’t any wound etc underneath it. I actually started laughing because it felt like something he would do. I said “Thanks, awesome present.” Not scary at all, it was really comforting.
