In 1992 my BIL was at Crawford W Long Hospital dying of cancer. One night around 9 there were about 20 of us sitting in the family waiting room with a view to the door of his room. The nurses station was at the waiting room and his room was behind it on the other side of the hall. A nun came "floating" down the corridor between us and the nursing station, turned right at the nursing station, and went into his room. At least 10 of us saw this and it was noticeable because the nun floated....there was no visible sign she was walking but was merely moving. She emerged from his room and went down the corridor past the us and the nurses station and continued on her way. My wife got up to see about my sister, who was in his room with my mother, and when she came out she was white as a ghost. The nun was never there. At least 10 of saw her go into his room, she was never seen by my sister or mama. He died about 5 hours later. As they were taking care of him one of the nurses came up to my wife and I and asked if we had seen Sister Mary. We said yes. She said Sister Mary had made the rounds around 9 the night before and 5 patients had passed in the night. I joked about "Y'all ought to keep her away from here then" to whcih the nurse said "Oh, she isn't real....but we see her regularly and family members see her here all the time....almost always just before their family member passes away".
I have known several other people beside the 10 or so of us who saw her that night who had a loved one pass away there and they saw her also....she is well known at Crawford Long Hospital....apparently people have been reporting seeing her around there for about 100 years. Almost any of the nurses I have asked since then know of or has seen Sister Mary there. Not really scary because there was nothing threatening about it....but strange all the same. Obviously some sort of mass hysteria brought on by shared emotions and trauma but it is strange that others have experienced it. She is referred to as Sister Mary because a nun by that name was instrumental in opening the hospital. I dont think it was ever a catholic hospital, that would have been unusual in Atlanta in 1918.

I've told this story before, if this even counts for the thread, not sure if it does or not. But taking a 45ACP hollow-point to the chest was less than fun.
I remember riding in the ambulance and I was thinking, "Oh, well I guess I might die tonight." I remember starting to pass out and my vision turning purple before I suddenly snapped back. They gave me adrenaline.
I also had a weird arse dream, I don't even remember what actually happened, I just know it somehow involved TMNT. But whatever happened led to me waking up as I pulled out all of my intubation tubing in ICU.
I also think the shooting was probably demonic...feels weird to say, but as I've had time to look back over things I've felt my heart steer towards that new perspective. What I was going through for the years leading up to it as well as the shooting itself, well, feels like there was a spiritual battle for my soul. I'm not saying I'm special in any way, actually quite the opposite. Which is what makes God having mercy on me that much more incredible.
No, I never explicitly saw anything. This is just a framework I think God has helped me to see as I came back to my faith Aug of last year.

This won't top anyone's story here, but why not.
I have a few.
Sudden Dread in the Woods category-
A close friend and I were fishing at what was called "Mount Allatoona" that is more googleable as Allatoona Pass where a bloody ambush occurred in the Atlanta campaign. I won't bore you with details here but it's a cool story. We'd been here many times, were not strangers to the area. We hadn't caught much if anything while fishing, the weather was nice, everything was cool, and we were making the long walk back to the car very leisurely. Suddenly, we both simultaneously were overcome with a feeling of dread and panic. We were stone cold sober. There was no growling sound or anything, just like walking into a wall of fear. We both stopped, and looked at each other, didn't say a word, and we both started hauling arse back to the car with our tackle boxes and fishing rods.
This is the spot-

Footsteps in the Attic-
I was in high school, doing homework in my bedroom. I heard my dad up in the attic walking around, doing dad stuff. He's a handyman type, who the hell knows what he was doing up there, I thought nothing of it.
I got thirsty and went downstairs to get some tea. Mom was in the kitchen. I asked her what Dad was doing in the attic. She said "he's not in the attic, he's out in the garage working on the car". I walked over and looked out the door to our detached garage and sure enough, his feet were sticking out from underneath the car.
So, I assumed my little brother might have been in the attic, up to no good. Nope, he was in his room watching TV.
No, it wasn't a possum or a coon. We'd had some flying squirrel infestations in the past and I know what they sound like. This was human footsteps in the attic.
There's Civil War shite all over that place, you can't plant a tomato without digging up a bayonet. Kennesaw area for you Civil War buffs.
In this same house, my father has repeatedly seen a ghost cat in the house. He's not a superstitious man, think Red Foreman from That 70's Show. To this day he swears he's seen the ghost cat in that house a dozen times, going back decades.

Legal Troubles Category-
Being handcuffed in the Dairy Queen parking lot on Oconee St in Athens on a DUI stop. I went from "I know my rights!" to "Please let me go officer, I'll take any test you want me to take" really fricking quick.
I passed the tests and went on my way. But I was fricking scared.

My great uncle/cousin (not entirely sure of the relation) was a self proclaimed warlock. Heavy in spells and witchcraft. Everyone said he was a nice man but no one really had anything to do with him because of it. The brothers never told anyone of these encounters at the time. They only came out years later when one of them told the others and the rest shared theirs. Also, this is GA and not LA. 1940’s and 50’s timeframe.
Back in the day my family always sat up with the dead. For those that don’t know this is where you don’t send the dead to the funeral home but instead receive friends and guests at the deceased home. The entire family “stays up” while the deceased is laid out in one of the rooms in the coffin. When my great uncle/cousin died my grandfather, who was born club footed and spent his entire life on crutches, said he witnessed this. As he was taking his turn sitting up he said that he witnessed a black cat jump up on the coffin. My grandfather said the he went to “shoo” away the cat with his crutch. When he did the crutch passed completely through it. There was also no one who owned a black cat at the residence.
Before he died there was supposedly a trunk that he had told his brothers to never open. So after the death when they were cleaning out his house one of my great uncles curiosity got the best of him and he opened the chest. He said that from that day he always felt a “presence” and always experienced stuff. When the family asked him what he had experienced he would never tell because “they knew when he was talking about them”. I can remember once at a family function that we finally convinced him to share some of the things. The very moment he started talking the power went out to the entire property where our family met. His first comments were “I told you they know. This isn’t a good idea. I shouldn’t tell you guys anything.” After he said that the power came back on. To this day no one knows what he ever experienced.
Also with this chest. After my great uncle opened it and the family got wind he was experiencing things. They wanted to get the trunk out of the house. Two of my uncles said that the entire time they were carrying the trunk out of the house that they could feel someone tapping and poking them. The moment they got out of the house it stopped. They never said where they took the trunk.
This is probably the most controversial story they told. They said that there was a “neighbor girl” who would occasionally go up to play with my great uncles kids. The story told his that one day she went up to see if the kids wanted to play like always but no one was home but my great uncle. The story goes that after that day she was never right mentally again. No one ever said what supposedly happened, just that great uncle/cousin “got her” with his spells and she was never the same.
