What is your scary story?

Happy Halloween! Let’s talk about the scariest / weirdest unexplained shite that’s ever happened to you. We all have the things that make us sound nuts but we know for sure happened.
For me it was when it was during my recovery from a car injury. Was on a few different pills rehabbing a broken leg. Anyway the pills had quite the effect on me. So much so that I had a weird psychosis that I was awoken in the middle of the night by my doorbell, only to answer the door to find an old Asian woman dressed like she was from ancient China and carrying a big walking stick. She was speaking Chinese and trying to nudge her way into my rental house until I closed the door. frickin pills right? I told the story to family friends and I became the butt of the joke that I was hallucinating old Asian ladies. Except a few weeks went by and my aunt who lived down the street was at a birthday party I was at. She said “I had the weirdest thing happen to me a few weeks ago.” To which I joked “Did some old Asian lady try to break into your house?” As soon as I said that her eyes widened and she said YES! Apparently I wasn’t hallucinating on pills when I answered the door at 3 am and there was an old Asian lady in ancient Chinese garb outside my door. Asked around the neighborhood and multiple people had visits from her that night. One guy even said she was in their backyard. Dunno if it was a “ghost” or an old lady with dementia BUT the fact that she was dressed like a villager from ancient wuhan was trippy.

I’ve posted this in another thread and I truly have no desire to rehash the details of it so I won’t.
I was visited by “the old hag” in my sleep once. Lots of folks over the years have experienced this. Wasn’t fun. Couldn’t breathe. Fully conscious. Felt demonic (and I believe it was).

If anyone doubts ghosts - or some sort of left-behind spiritual beings - exist, book room 414 bridal suite at The White House Hotel in Biloxi. I recently stayed there and was “upgraded” to that room for free. What started as a nice surprise ended with Mrs. Gumbo and I abruptly checking out before sunrise and driving straight home. frick whatever the frick was in there with us. Had no idea the hotel even had a history of paranormal reports at the time of booking and when checking out, we told the front desk what was going on and they decided that was the time to tell us others have reported similar things in that same room. frick it all, I’m covered in goosebumps right now just typing this and remembering it all. Never again.

My Aunt had a farm in Cold Harbor where there was a Civil War battle.
I was staying in the man cave which was in an out building a nice walk from the house. .
At night I heard some people talking outside. In crazy thick accents. When I went outside it was nothing. Then I heard them inside.
I kinda freaked out and went back to the main house. I slept in the couch. I told my aunt what happened. And she just said "oh you heard the ghost. They won't hurt you" like it was nothing.
I dont believe in ghost. But then again that night I heard it again. They didn't have neighbors. It was a long atv ride just to the mailbox.
I have never been back.

Wife and I are very logical and grounded people and we have no explanation for what we experienced. I don’t tell many people about it because I know the opinions about us that they would form in their head because I would do the same if it didn’t happen to me personally.

I can’t decide if I would’ve been more freaked out or intrigued in this situation.
Here’s my story. At my college apartment, the creepy maintenance guy was super into my (female) roommate. For a few months leading up to his (unrelated afaik) firing, odd stuff started happening around the apartment. Things would seem out of place. A random sock turned up on the floor that didn’t belong to us, and neither of us had recently had company. That sort of thing. One night I was going to bed, and when I shut my door, there were two very distinct footprints in the carpet behind the door. It looked as if someone had been standing/hiding behind the door long enough to leave an impression in the carpet. To this day, I swear it was the creepy maintenance guy…possibly was creeping around the apartment earlier in the day and caught off guard when one of us came home for lunch or something.
I’ve had 4-5 ghost encounters as well, but none of them felt threatening.
Adding another creepy experience while staying in the guest house of a plantation down around Franklin. Thru the night, something was slapping at the walls all around the place. At least 5 times, all in different locations. Thank God my wife slept thru it. I specifically didn’t get up to investigate because I didn’t want to wake her and deal with a terrified wife for the rest of the night. I don’t include this in the above mentioned ghost count b/c I’ve no idea what it was.

Id had that frozen/paralyzed sensation hit me innthe middle of sleep before with a slender man type figure looming in the corner of my pitch black bedroom
shite was not fun so I stopped sleeping on my back and haven't had it since

My dad went missing. Had a dream that night. He walked into my room and told me he was sorry, then walked out. His body was found three months later. He had killed himself, mostly likely the day of my dream.

I also remember years ago a guy posted a story about he and his wife running out of their house after seeing a portal opened up in their kitchen and shadow people screaming at the them. From what I remember the guy was actually a reputable poster and specifically said he didn’t care if anyone believed him. I might ask chat gpt to find that post.
Also anyone remember like 10 years ago when that guy posted pics of a “ghost” in his upstairs bedroom window, but it turned out to be a shitty Halloween decoration?

In 2019 I woke up with a woman in a grey nightgown hovering over me. Creamy grey eyes & wet looking hair maybe shoulder length. Her gown looked dirty and old and so did she. I couldn’t move or speak or anything. Anywho I finally broke out of it and came to and my dog was going nuts with barking and growling that I didn’t hear before. Then I heard a scream from the front room of the house and the front door slammed hard. I went check and there was nothing there. I looked into the camera in my living room pointed at my front door and I seen some orb looking things pass by at the time of the scream.
The next day I looked up some info and realized I had had sleep paralysis. Never had anything happen to me thats been that frightening before in my life.
Still have no clue what those orbs were though
