What is the logic with not getting over in the right lane

This is for a specific scenario.

You're passing a truck on the right. Ahead of the truck you pass is another truck .25 miles ahead you're going 3-4 MPH faster than. Instead of getting over to the right and then passing the truck when you catch up, you just stay in the left lane blocking 4 cars going faster than you.

Why won't these people just get over?

I also have the same question about the folks who don't use the turnouts when driving up a mountain pass.

Because they’re inconsiderate morons.

Too many people have zero awareness of their surroundings or how they’re impacting others because they’re too concerned with whatever SpongeBob shite is goin on inside their own head.

You can get stuck behind the slow truck with slow passers on the left.

Same as using public toilets and pissing on the seat. Or walking around in the summertime saying "How bout this heat?".

You can’t see 1.5 miles ahead, if you see a vehicle ahead, unless the road is completely straight, it is likely less than a quarter mile.

How much faster than the speed limit were they going?

Exactly, if you aren't actively passing a vehicle get over to the right. Someone is always going faster than you. It is not that complicated.

Because you're going to eventually pass that tandem of 3 beat up cars , labeled "in tow", at some point along your journey

Has no bearing on the decision. Only question is, Are you passing someone? If no, get to the right. If yes, complete the pass then get over to the right.

The majority of people have no idea how to drive. They also think that if they are going 5mph over the limit then that is "fast enough" and they don't need to get out of the way. Mindless idiots!

With all of the things going viral these days, it's amazing one of us isn't skyscreaming "THE LEFT LANE IS FOR MF'S REALLY TRYING TO BREAK THE LAW."

There is another truck 1/4 mile ahead. I’m going 5 mph faster than it, but you want to go 10 mph faster so you want me to get over. The problem is there may be 15 more cars behind you that only want to go 1 mph faster and now I’m stuck and can’t get back over. It’s a guessing game every time but in this particular situation you want to me cost myself 10 minutes to save you 5 seconds. I’m not doing it.

For me, I usually get over after I’m done passing who I want to pass. The people I want to pass, if I can safely, are those not going 5-10 mph over the speed limit (assuming we are talking interstate and not a construction zone).

I sometimes find, in doing this passing, that people who were previously going 10-20 mph over the speed limit, maybe more, will run up on my bumper. Some get angry ( I can tell by them swerving side to side or flashing lights or getting close to my bumper) and for those people I will not get over even when I can. Why? Because I can’t predict their action and if I attempt to change lanes they could hit me if they decide to pass on the right. Safer to maintain my speed and let them take action/change lanes.

Right, because you are an inconsiderate moron. I get back right everytime I pass regardless of who is behind me. Even if no one is there I get over than get back left when I get to the next vehicle. It is the proper way to drive. The left lane is only for passing, not driving. Your math doesnt work in your example though, but good try.

truckers used to be pretty professional drivers but that has long since passed, I think they're among the worst drivers on the road, but the scenario that you're describing is because of inertia(and shitty decisions on the part of the truckers,) when loaded they don't have a lot of excess energy or acceleration to really pull out and pass another truck, so when they make the (usually poor,) decision to pass another truck, both trucks are likely doing everything they can to accelerate but they just can't

There's the problem right there.... YOU.

That big Truck was probably in the left lane waiting for the car to pass on the right...as soon as the lane opened up and the trucker was about to move over to the right, some else jumped into the right lane trying to pass and blocked the right lane for the truck again.

Never fails... I am in the left lane.. Got my blinker on to get into the right lane.. Some joker is passing to my right... as soon as he passes some other joker thinking he is Mario Spaghetti and starts passing on the right and blocking the lane a second time.

Never fails
