What is it with women and cruise control?

They won't use it. Speed up slow down the whole damn way. I'll sometimes ride with my wife or daughter, and after a while on the hiway I'll mention it and it's always a surprise to them that it's there. Trying to pass one is infuriating at times.

Few things annoy me more. Cruise set at 69 in the 55. Gain on car for 2 miles.. of course i have to pass them on the right, hey they gotta turn left in another 13 miles! As soon as i catch them the mother fricker speeds up.

They have to be in control. My wife has a car with adaptive cruise and she will not use it. She has to be able to pass and tailgate people who are "in her way"
Same thing with the automatic AC. She will not turn it on in the car. But understands and uses the thermostat in the house.

Pro tip - you can use the instantaneous fuel economy read out to infer what she is doing with her right foot for extra infuriation.
They dont understand its purposes, its advantages, why the world would be a better place if everyone used it, etc.

As long as they are in the right lane, its not an issue.

I don't use it often for the following reasons:
1. People drive slow in the right lane
2. People drive slow in the left lane
3. When I come up on slow people in the left lane, they don't move to the right lane. If I try to switch to the right lane, there is usually a car going even slower forcing me to brake.

I grew up in the Ozarks which have hills and curves. My biggest peeve is catching up to some jackass through the curves only to have him jump to 20moh over the limit on the straight ways and keeping me rom passing him. Then he’ll 20moh under the speed limit on the curves again.

As long as they are in the right lane, its not an issue.
A larger percentage of women than men inherently do not have a fully developed grasp of relative motion of objects.
A simple illustration of this is how a decent percentage of women cannot accurately judge the path of a thrown (or more explicitly a kicked) object.
This is extremely noticeable with adolescent soccer players. Boys can generally accurately perceive where a highly kicked ball is going to land; the majority of girls simply cannot.
Males were hunter-gathers for tens of thousands of years and needed to understand motion better in that role.
Asian women are particularly ill-equipped to drive automobiles. Self-driving cars cannot arrive fast enough to rid the planet of that scourge.

My wife and daughters do not use it and refuse to even entertain the idea.

I liked the regular cruise control I had in my old minivan. Can't stand the adaptive cruise control in my 4runner. I won't use it.

It makes driving so much easier though. I set mine at the maximum following distance and just go with the flow. No stress, no tailgating and no tickets.

It tries to "drive"... it freaks me out feeling the steering wheel move on its own accord in my hands and going 70mph.
I wouldn't mind a FSD car, but it's gotta be either me or the car- no collaborative effort.

Happened to me on my way into work this week. Cruise set at 75 in the right hand lane, pulling up on a car in front of me so I slide over into the left lane. Next thing I know, I'm 84 and can't shake this a-hole. Like WTF?
