I’ve put a lot of thought into this. And I’ve realized it’s pointless. The best I could come up is to make all government aid recipients maintain full time employment in order to receive benefits.

Nobody should get any grants, ever. Not your friend, not Meta, nobody. Locally owned companies are some of the shittiest at management. Locally owned companies don't get funded, or get loans, because they SUCK at what they do.

Definitely not the case in St. Charles Parish. Dow, Shell, Valero, Bayer, Oxy, and other smaller companies do a lot for the schools and parish.
The school system has an excellent program for kids wanting to go into the trades, engineering, teaching, and culinary arts thanks to them..

Based on the some of the responses here, I'd agree. Lots of pessimistic retards with zero understanding of how economics work. Quit complaining about your kids moving out of state and public services being cut if you don't want the economy to grow.

Let’s all be honest with ourselves - our problem is the quality and dependability of the available workforce. Why did Toyota say no, because there aren’t enough locals in that area to hire and maintain a workforce, meta said yes, because they only need 15 people.
Why would a company come here, low overall COL, due to the cheap labor. Cheap labor that will accept the job and not show up, or show up and frick up everything they touch due to low intelligence, drug abuse, and overall laziness.
If we want to get ahead, it has to start with the politicians. Firstly, not electing corrupt ones, secondly, electing ones that will make long term changes to either bring in new graduates, or to make the current drains on society leave. Drug testing and employment verification for aid recipients. Proper property tax enforcement. If you buy a house every few years, you are probably properly assessed. If you are living in your granny’s house that hasn’t changed hands in 50 years, you probably aren’t paying enough.
Actually punishing criminals. If drug dealing, theft, even littering came with harsh penalties, they would eventually be lessened. If we keep turning criminals out of the jails after a few days to a few months for committing crimes, it isn’t a deterrent and isn’t slowing it down.
Make Louisiana safe and clean and difficult to just live on the system and better quality people will come in or at least stay. Make it more difficult to live on the system and those people will leave.
Our problem wasn’t created overnight, and it won’t be solved overnight, but I believe that is the only way out. The problem is that it might take 50-100 years, and nobody (especially politicians) don’t take action on plans that would take that long.

Well I know people there and I've heard them say this stuff. They meet a couple hundred people and then there are billboards and signatures. And I realize that it's not just local but extortionists as well. There is a reason the parish looks like it's still in the dark ages.

Clothing - having a HQ for an up-and-coming clothing brand would do wonders like Nike and Columbia did for Oregon.
Automotive - Have a manufacturing plant for any automotive company.
Motorcycles, ATVs, etc - more automotive manufacturing
Manufacturing shite everyone needs - Buttons, Zippers, Forks and Knives, Glassware, paper towel holders, plumbing fixtures, etc.
Pharma Manfactuing - Ozempic, Diabetes drugs, etc.
Pet Supplies - Dog food, cat food, treats
There are tons of industries.
