Is it the boomers?
If so, why did they feel the need to shack up with a woman they wouldn’t spend their life with?

I feel like this is one thing that can’t be blamed on Millennials

Basically divorce is a result of the hardness of one's heart.

if I've learned one thing from the deranged Left... blame straight, white, males and/or Trump and you are good to go in the blame game.

Why does it have to be blamed on a generation.

I’d say it has more to do with technology, social media etc.

Social media makes everyone look like they have perfect lives. People get jealous and think the grass must be greener with a different partner, in a different city or with a spouse that has more money/nicer things

It doesn’t have to be blamed on one generation, it just seems like a lot of boomers are separated

I think Hollywood and Romance novels made people believe marriage was an amazing thing filled with no hardships etc.

It really started trending up in the 80s-90s if I'm not mistaken. It's why GenX is referred to as the latchkey kids. I was one of them.

I think it’s a general societal trend of refusing personal responsibility. Marriage is tough sometimes.

Refusing to self evaluate and instead blaming your spouse for your own shortcomings is a recipe for failure.

A spouse is not there to guarantee your happiness. If that’s your expectation, then you are not holding up your end of the commitment.

I think it's due to the fact that people think that is part of a stage of life. You graduate HS, go to college, find a significant other, get married, have kids.. So instead of waiting until you find the right person, people find the right person for the moment.. if that makes sense.

Not to mention, we all change as we get older. Most people are not the same person they were 10 years ago and will not be the same person 10 years from now. So things happen, people get divorced.
