I have never looked at 50% or whatever it has been for my entire adult life for 2 reasons.
1) Marriage is FOREVER if it works. Half of them lasting forever is a LOT.
2) Since the people who get divorced tend to do it more than once the % of people who have successful marriages is way more than 50% of those participating.

I’ve always been kinda of a nerdy Jew boy looking guy. I’ve done OK with the ladies. I’ve been married 13 years now to a woman who is better looking than me.
As I grow older, I have become better looking maybe. I’m starting to get attention from younger women that I’ve never had before. I’m 44 and these young triflers are starting to display the poonani on a platter for me.
Why is this? Is it because I make a lot of money? I don’t show it because I drive a CRV and a 95 F250. Is it because I have white in my generous mustache and goatee and they have daddy issues?
Is it because they know I would slay that prize and the boys today don’t go to it like that?
God knows I don’t want these temptations.

Plenty of guys get more attractive as they age, but mostly I think it’s because they stop caring so fricking much about women think about them in every waking moment. It’s amazing how women respond if you treat them like a human being instead of prey.

Truth. These are the same women who convince their hot female friend to chop tubeless hair short and tell them how good it looks.

If you never get married, you can't get divorced. Draconian practice.

I will never say a bad word about my ex wife or ex S/O's. I cared for them, still do to some degree. Just because things didn't work out forever doesn't mean I have to hate on them. Every one of them was and is a really good person with flaws, like we all have.
Negativity destroys you. Not getting into that circle.

One parent speaking ill of the other in front of their kids is about as trashy as it gets.

Is it the boomers?
If so, why did they feel the need to shack up with a woman they wouldn’t spend their life with?
I feel like this is one thing that can’t be blamed on Millennials
Boomers have the highest divorce rate because they married like their parents did, young and often for the wrong reasons but changing social ideals made it acceptable to divorce, unlike their parents generation.
Subsequent generation have each married less and cohabitated more. So those younger, ill thought out relationships end without a divorce.
Why is the illegitimacy rate higher amongst later generations? See above.
I'm a boomer. Married at 19, divorced at 28. Remarried at 30 and married for 27 years.

nah. Will never go away. Just like some people aren't meant to roam, others are meant to nest.

While my father and I openly discuss my mother's insanity, he will never leave her. He said he made a commitment, in front of God. While I respect his principles, I am truly sad for him.

I don’t you can blame any one generation on the divorce rate. It’s a choice made by individuals no matter what generation they might be part of.
Marriage is not something I think I’ll ever do again.

When California instituted “No Fault” divorce laws in 1969 and the rest of the country followed suit.

That's because she gave up on herself a long time ago. She has no self respect.

We work to stay married because we love and care about each other, but also because of not wanting to fail. Nobody sets out to be a failure at anything;
Failure doesn't exist. It is a concept drilled into us as a result of cultural conditioning. There are only learning experiences in life. No one wins or loses here because we are all going back to the same source after death. Earth is a school for the spiritual advancement of your consciousness and soul.

Pretty much. Sadly people live their lives scared to death of failure, which is something that's measured internally, not externally.
There's only one person I ever have to impress, and that's myself.

women marrying guys just to pay the bills then going frick jodie all the time.
but there are guys who do this as well, they get married to have a housekeeper then go frick every piece of strange tail they can.
if you get married for any reason other then really wanting a long term relationship it fails. it takes hard work to make a relationship work and most are too selfish or lazy to put in the work
