I'm sick so I'm home from work. Just browsing the nets pretending I'm retired. What do you guys think about this boot which is super popular:

I’ve been wearing a pair of Maine hunting boots for 36 seasons now.

I don’t have much use for those, but everyone I know who owns a pair really likes them and says they basically last forever.

Have a pair. Maybe 15 years old

They are comfortable and last forever but I really only wear them when going skiing

Maybe wear them 2-3 times a year otherwise

I used to wear those my freshman year at LSU. I was over-served and on the ground throwing up in the parking lot of Sports. Some dude drove by and called me a duck boot fagg0t.
That’s all I got.

I had some in the 90's, I found the soles to be slippery.

Best boots you could buy in the past

Those are duck boots. Good for hunting. Good for farm work where you work in mud / water.

I like em, but you need to live in cold climate to justify it. And they are pretty wide.

I’ve had a couple pairs. I busted my arse and had fallen a couple of other times when they get covered in or are wet from snow/rain and you walk into a business or store or house and step on a tile floor. Even after you wipe them on a rug, might be wet just past the rug and they are really slippery.

Good practical boots. Quality control and sizing issues with LL Bean is a huge concern in general. Not sure if that has trickled into their boots. Customer service is responsive but can be a pain in the arse if you need to return something. Unless it is a manufacturing issue, you have to pay return shipping, and may even have to pay it upfront regardless.

I had the slip-on shoe “storm chaser” version for about 10 years. They were warm and dry. However the outsole was very slippery with very poor traction in winter weather. Rain was okay.

Inside footbed wore out and I decided a cheap shoe carnival alternative type boot served my needs just as easily for half the price and swore off the brand forever.

I've had a pair for 10 years and they are in excellent shape. While they are obviously an outdoor boot, on slippery surfaces like wet tile/mud on an incline they might as well be bowling shoes. I like the look of them and are my preferred shoe for rainy days, I'm just cautious when it comes to the slick surfaces.

I have a pair of Sperry duck boots I wear. I like them but my feet do get cold when it is freezing out.

Currently made ones are junk. The stitching is off and they are made overseas.

The older ones are great. I have 2 pairs.

I had some when I was younger and lost them. I got the bug a couple of years ago and found some new and like new ones on eBay and bought them. One pair is for hunting. I put some blue Superfeet insoles in them and they have been great.

I’ve had the same pair for 20 years.

Zero complaints
