re: Ranking the SEC in terms of BBQ

Someone from a state that doesn't do BBQ
Kentucky does do barbeque. It’s rather unique and mainly confined to the Western part of the state. You’ll never go there and try it. No one cares if you do. We’re self aware enough to know it’s place…which is not on these kinds of lists.
Carolina has okay barbecue. But it’s not the “end of the story” best. A lot of people don’t like pepper vinegar or a heavy dose of mustard with their pork. Sorry, not sorry.
You know what you’re the best at? The Carolina Squat truck. Congrats. Best ever.
Louisville athletic dept might be broke, but the basketball team is throwing out insane money for 26-27 roster They will clearly have one of the highest paid rosters next year.

"Hey, let's go to KY for some great BBQ!" said no one, ever.
Kentucky BBQ is bottom tier.
So what’s your point? Did anyone argue Kentucky was better?
You all just can’t handle being ranked 3rd or 4th in these discussions and never fail to get bent out of shape over it. This same thread pops up once or twice a year and every single time, a bunch of Carolina posters vomit all over the place when they are considered second tier-ish.

dont forget Korea!
 Holy hell…you’re right!
I don’t care what you call me…but you still have less desirable barbecue than Memphis, Texas, and KC.
And your low country cuisine is rather lame as well.

Jesus…I don’t mind the white sauce and don’t pretend that Alabama doesn’t have other barbecue. But it is what Alabama is known for and no one gives a shite about any other barbecue from Alabama in these discussions. It’s not that deep.
quote:
This right here says you don't have a clue about real bbq plus aren't people from Kentucky actually Yankees
And there is that inferiority complex coming out. Never fails.
I get all that..but Memphis has the basic style on lock down and gets all the glory. The regional variations, while all good, don’t necessarily get a seat at the table in these discussions.
quote:
Using a white mayonnaise sauce for bbq is akin to using ketchup on a ribeye
While I don’t praise Alabama barbecue, white mayonnaise is the base for just about every great sauce ever made. And in comparison, you all basically put yellow mustard on a pork chop. Might want to get off that high horse a bit.
quote:
Mississippi should be higher
Ours is basically Memphis style
You don’t get your own (or higher) ranking by being “basically Memphis”.
Western Kentucky barbecue is somewhat unique…but I don’t rank it because the sauce is small regional at best and of course…mutton.
.
Barbeque and barbeque sauce type are not mutually exclusive.
1 Memphis pork
2 Texas beef
3 Random KC and various other southern states, etc…
4 Carolinas
The inferiority complex the Carolina’s have over barbecue is nauseating. Just be like Alabama…they know they have a different thing going on, and accept it is not universally considered all that great. They just live with it. Believe it or not, the random person in this country, or the south, is not salivating over some busted arse mustard or vinegar based shite when the other options are available.

This is the result of shitty parents, which is the downfall of our society. Decent and respectful parents teach their children to never cut cross someone’s lawn. It should basically be ingrained before the child even goes to preschool. If you side with the mailman, you had shitty parents.

That makes LESS sense. If Gummy is in cahoots with the cops for the whole operation, why would they be targetting, harassing, and beating him?
Because they own him and want to keep him in his place.
IBS is a lot like ADHD and anxiety. They are real things for some people. However, everyone and their mother now claim they have it because everyone wants to be special, and doctors just go along with it vs being an actual respectable professional and telling them no, they don’t.
I’m really no expert, but, If eating like a respectable adult doesn’t work, a prescription for an antispasmodic may help, but doubtful. Most seem to manage it with small portions, avoiding trigger foods, and keeping Imodium on hand basically at all times. Waiting a bit before departing a restaurant is beneficial, and for the older crowd who are losing their ability to tighten up, keep some heavy duty trash bags in your car within arms reach to limit a mess should the need arise.

I get all the replies about it never taking a break and so forth and that it’s getting faster a bit.
But I still don’t see it ever replicating the speed of a human regardless…at least at the cost of power to achieve such speed vs paying a human minimal wages.
Now, some other non humanoid piece of technology could maybe achieve it…but that’s not what we’re looking at here.

Work Comp adjusters are al first class assholes. Check are late can't get them on the phone all sorts things to make so frustrated you take a low ball settlement you're so tired of dealing with their bullshite
Not all adjusters are great…but you know who is worse at returning phone calls and providing you with basic and necessary information? The average plaintiff attorney you just hired. And they will now take upwards to 12% of whatever money you would have gotten anyway.
The highlight of an adjusters day is receiving call from a claimant and telling them they cannot talk with them directly anymore because they are represented by an attorney.
Tigersbb, Festus, and maybe a few others are the only people in this entire thread who actually know what they are talking about. It is obvious they do this, or something closely associated to it, for a living. I’ve done this for almost 30 years…just not in Louisiana.

So my wife being paid does not affect WC from still covering medical costs? Can the employee continue to pay her and WC just cover medical? Is that allowed? I’m in LA.
Yes, WC will cover medical regardless of how TTD or salary in lieu is paid.

Wrong
Whatever. The adjuster will prefer to deal with an attorney anyway. It makes life easier than dealing with the typical claimant who believes everyone is out to get them.

Every state is different and I’m not overly familiar with your state. However, if the employer already reported the injury to the wc insurance company, they are not trying to hide or minimize anything. The insurance company is required to report the injury to the state, in most jurisdictions. Your wife claim is fine and there is no immediate reason to worry. She needs to talk to her adjuster if she has any questions. Skip HR outside of just keeping them in the loop. Employer HR has no power and is generally useless.
Most states have a mandatory waiting period before wc picks up indemnity payments (TTD) after someone has been placed off work by a physician and the employer is unable to accommodate restrictions. Usually something like no pay for first 7 days unless you miss over 14 days. The WC insurance company will not issue any indemnity payments until after 2 weeks.
In most jurisdictions, the employer may elect to continue salary in lieu of potential TTD payments from the insurance company. This has no impact on your wife’s claim.
No need for an attorney unless she reaches MMI and has a permanent impairment, at which you may want one if you disagree with what has been assessed.
There are strict laws about how wc insurance companies handle claims and most companies do not mess around and operate in bad faith. Plaintiff attorneys are more likely to take your money for nothing versus an overworked and underpaid adjuster.
