Everyone knows g-rap was promoted by the CIA to keep up the pace the crack epidemic was supposed to reduce the number of black males. Once it caught on and there was money to be made the funding was available so USAID money wasn't needed.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but J Cole is 41 and retired with his most recent album release

If there were any direct correlation we'd have seen a sustained lack of top 40... which hasn't occurred. A fact that somehow escapes these people. Not that statistical anomaly was ever in these people's vocabulary

Some of Yall will call me crazy, but some of the best newer rap out there right now is from Christian Rap artists.
Dudes like Lecrae, KB, Andy Mineo, Mike Malagies and Hulvey are putting out some cool stuff, that's sounds much more like what we all liked in the 90s and has some really good lyrical work and a 1000% better message.
My son learned about rap from some other kids and of course became interested. I knew the message wasn't an option and knew a bit about Lecrae and a couple others (I listen to primarily Christian music these days), but he learned and introduced me to even more and they are actually pretty dang good and I enjoy listening to quite a bit of it with him.

Mostly correct. Kids around 21 still listen to Boose, Lil Phat and Webbie. Outside of that I hear them playing classic 70's rock, Rush and Grunge. Gen Z has hope.
