Could be. I liked some rap back in the day, but the new generation of mumble rap that sounds like some kid down the block made it in his garage “studio” is freaking awful

When early hip hop "evolved" into rap, it ceased to be interesting.
The fact that folks bereft of musical talent have Grammys and platinum sales almost conclusively proves it was either psyop or other contrivance.

I have listened to rap over the years but the has to be SOMETHING good about it.
Are the lyrics great
Is the production quality great
Is the rappers voice strong and engaging.
I can’t listen to this skinny jeans soft mumble bullshite. I think it’s dilution. Instead of labels developing and producing real talent they are just waiting to pounce on the next guy who trends on tik tok or SoundCloud.

Pretty amazing people think about it at all. Anything people don't like they blame on something else, instead of people having varying taste.
Reality is that country music seems to be the new "rap" music. Aka what young kids listen to

Drake released 3 albums at once and none of them were very good despite being commercially successful. There's still good rap music being put out but it's coming from the oldheads. Clipse, J. Cole, Tyler the Creator have all had good albums the last couple of years. Even Kanye's newest album isn't bad. The younger generations don't care about these artists though.

IMO: Diddy had a lot to do with the quietness of rap these days. But yeh, do I think USAID money was filtered to entertainers in one form or another, yes.

Careful…some try hard 35 year old is going to come in here and correct you that it isn’t ACTUALLY “mumble rap.”
It’s happened on the music board several times.
