I always knew it was musically worthless.
Especially after the Diddy files came out and we found out that the business model was to get talentless chumps to suck dick for loyalty before fabricating them as great 'artists'. Because they have no talent, they can't rebel against their producers or run off to another label.

Can't speak for everyone because I know most here have always hated it, but rap peaked for my generation when I was in high school from 2012-2016.
I hardly listen to anything new whether that be because I am actively outgrowing the music or it really has gotten worse.
Fair mix of both if I had to guess.

I think this has a lot more to do with it. Also, and maybe this just has more to do with my area, but ive noticed a lot more black kids at concerts than i have in the past. Took my son to see Treaty Oak a few months back and honestly, i was shocked by the number of young blacks kids there. Also went to a hardcore show at a little dive bar a few weeks ago and like a third of the crowd was black. Was interesting seeing this little black girl get rowdy in the pit.

Just off the top of my head within country:
-Chris Stapleton is mainstream country and he has done some really good work.
-Sturgill Simpson did some great stuff before trailing off around Covid
-Jason Isbell same story
-Turnpike Troubadours
-Tyler Childers had a great run for awhile
-Red Clay Strays are doing some great stuff
Did mainstream/big label country fall off? Absolutely.
Did red dirt/alt country more than make up for it? Absolutely, you just aren’t going to hear them on the radio because they aren’t owned by big machine or the country cartel in Nashville.
It is worth mentioning that the same big money groups backing Hollywood back Nashville labels and that could be a factor in the decline of what is heard on the radio or play into the USAID discussions but I don’t think there’s enough evidence yet to say for sure.

I have long believed that the Rap Industry was a front for drug sales and washing dirty money. None of these guys are out here selling millions in albums. Instead they are a front to wash drug money.

The CIA actively pushed degenerate rap and hiphop and actively suppressed rock music. Many stars in rap were actually money laundering vehicles for gangs to cover for drug smuggling/sales revenue. A great example is actually NBA Youngboy.
