Get a box knife and some spare blades. Cut it into strips, roll it up, and tie them. Put it into the weekly trash bins.

The box springs will have some wood you may need to break up.

Metal too.

This is $15 at harbor freight. Works like a charm for this job. Ask me how I know.

Where do you live?

Burn it if you can. I have a burn pile on the back of my land for limbs and stuff too big to put in the garbage.

Buy a new one. Have them take it away when they deliver the new one.

I've been trying to give away a free queen box spring this week and every single person that tells me they are coming to get it never come.

I should just put it at the curb, but I didn't want it to get rained on. Looks like the rain is finally over now, so maybe I'll put it out there now.

Just throw them on the side of the Interstate. That seems to be the most common method of disposing these days.

Jefferson Parish (and I assume others) have bulk pickup.

You have to call whoever your garbage company is.

Our last mattress had piss and nosebleed stains from our 2nd child... it looked like a frickin crime scene. The wine stains didn't help.

Do y’all not keep a mattress cover on your mattresses? They’re like $25 and machine washable.

Interesting responses all.

I found out that there is apparently a bulk pickup schedule for every 2 weeks. Not sure how I didn’t know this.

Take the mattress to the local homeless camp and watch them fight for it.

Used mattresses are icky even without stains... years of skin cells, sweat, dust mites and whatnot- just take it to the dump or call a junk man to come get it.

Yeah, weird how you can’t even give away a used mattress………………..
but you’ll pay $100 to sleep on one for a night.

How the hell do you stain a box spring?

I just took an old box spring outside, poured myself a drink, grabbed my sawzall and cut that bitch down into pieces I can burn. Threw everything else in the trash that I couldn't. It was a fun way to spend an hour.
