Mattress is worn out with some stains. Box spring is functional but is also stained. Were rough on things what can I say…

What are my options besides driving 30 minutes to the dump?

Sure I can put it out to the street and someone may take it. Honestly I’m kind of paranoid sending it to unknown people.

They’re assuming the risk, man.

Seems like it’s either that or throwing them into the nearest river.

Put a sheet on it before you haul it out... mattress stains are embarrassing as hell.

Used mattresses are icky even without stains... years of skin cells, sweat, dust mites and whatnot- just take it to the dump or call a junk man to come get it.

Just drive around in the back of your truck until it blows out on the interstate.

Seems a lot of people do that.

As an alternative, if you live in a municipality they may offer large goods day. Call 311/411 and schedule a pickup.

Get a box knife and some spare blades. Cut it into strips, roll it up, and tie them. Put it into the weekly trash bins.

The box springs will have some wood you may need to break up.

Our last mattress had piss and nosebleed stains from our 2nd child... it looked like a frickin crime scene. The wine stains didn't help.

You’re supposed to set it on fire in your neighbor’s yard.

Seriously, though, is there not a refuse truck that also comes by on garbage day in your neighborhood?

I'd normally agree with you, but so many illegals and their families have hit our shores since 2020, if you put anything not covered in visible lice on the curb, it's gone in four hours.
