Okay, this is our trivia question for the day.
Played ball in mid 80 s and his dad was the captain of the 58 national champions.
Who is this?

My dad went to LSU. As did my sister.
I applied to multiple universities, but I knew I was only going to LSU.
I spent a summer in Hawaii with my sister after my freshman year - her husband was in the Navy - and she tried to talk me into transferring to the University of Hawaii for a few semesters and I could live with them.
I probably should have done that, looking back.

Submarine watching at the lakes,
Loved to get my young friends looking for those submarines when I was a kid.
Certainly those cars were parked there for some good reason.

Parents are from Missouri and moved to New Orleans to take a job with Shell. Born in New Orleans, moved to Houston and could watch LSU games there. Just grew up a tiger's fan. Moved back to Louisiana to finish up high school and then on to LSU. Didn't apply anywhere else at the time and would only apply if I didn't get accepted.

My Uncle was a cheerleader in 1958 and my Grandfather came up with the "Hot Boudin" Cheer.
I sold programs at the football games in High school and graduated in 1997.

My mom went to LSU for 6 days and hated it, moved back home, and got her degree from the original LSU-NO.
My dad’s second choice was LSU but he was from a large family and his dad had already passed away, so he went to Texas A&M to stay close to home.
My masters degree is from LSU, my bachelors from UNO (when it was previously under the LSU system)
My brother and my oldest child graduated from LSU. I have two children at LSU right now.
My younger three children may attend LSU, not sure.

Yes.
That is it.
I remember the Kinchens from the 1980s and their father was a Chinese Bandit.
The thing that stands out in my mind after all these years is Todd’s punt return against Texas A&M.
ETA
Based upon a post below we have it narrowed down to a Kinchen or a Hendrix. So as not to dox anyone ( although this is a friendly crowd) we can leave it at that.

Grandpa graduated from Loyola
Parents went to USL.
I graduated from LSU - class of '04.
Older sister (no pics) graduated from LSU in '01.
The younger brother graduated from LSU in '09 (via BRCC - always like to make that jab).

I was born 40 minutes from LSU, my Mom and Dad both graduated from LSU, I graduated from LSU in 1989, and I had a sister and a brother that graduated from LSU.
It's the only school I ever wanted to go to from the time my Dad first sat me on his lap to watch an LSU football game in my earliest memories at about 5. No regrets, I loved every minute of every day I went to school there and I still love it now like I did that day sitting on Dad's lap.

My uncle graduated in 1932. Lived in the original barracks next to the capitol.
My father in law sold LSU the lights in Tiger Stadium. He had football tickets from the 50's to 2000.
I have the original 1950 game program featuring Paul Dietzel on the cover. I had it signed by Coach Dietzel about 20 years ago.

Father in undergrad then graduate in 1980’s - 1990’ and brought us everywhere on campus as kids back when everyone rode bikes/ walked. My siblings and I attended early 2000’s.
LSU USED to have an “IT” factor, a type of organic “magic of the heart” that has since been replaced over the years by cheap plastic corporate bullsh*t, a crisis of culture, and a price tag that is not sustainable.
As another poster put it: LSU better get their sh*t together if they want my children to even think of attending.
Seeing those lights lit up in the evening is one of my great childhood flashbulb memories!

I am not a graduate, but my Freshman year was at LSU in 1980. I am a procrastinator by nature, and so I ended up on the 5th floor of the West Stadium dorms. I ended up getting married and transferring to USL because I had a house in Lafayette, but LSU was always my first love, and one night in the student section in Tiger Stadium ruined Cajuns football for me.
I was an engineering student back when engineering was in CEBA. The old joke was that engineering and business administration were in the same building because that's where all the students who couldn't make it in engineering switched to.
Two of my kids graduated from LSU and were both students there in 2019 for the greatest football team of all time.

It will ruin just about any CFB football for anyone. It’s in a league of its own with a few comrades on that mountain.

Did you mistype and mean 1959 (maybe hit the 0 instead of the 9)? Dietzel was coaching the line at Army in 1950, and didn't start coaching LSU until 55.
