First person in my family tree to graduate from college, BS Comp Sci 1989.
Came from a long line of people that lived in the Neutral Strip of La near the Sabine since the 1800s. Oilfield and cornfield trash. I was the only one to venture down south.
Had no affinity for LSU, only reason I went there over FSU was Tandy Computers had a top 5 sales store there I could transfer to. Worked out, within a year was making bank going to school part time.

Grew up in NC/TN, went to UT, live in Atlanta. Dad was born & raised in NOLA, and basically my entire extended family went to LSU. I learned about this site through them and a good friend who was a longtime lurker during the prime days of the OT.

I have no ties to LSU other than being born in the state, and taking a few random classes at LSUA. And some of my family graduated there, but that's not really me.
Boise State alum here.

I was 3 years old when my father was killed by a drunk driver. My mom met a man, and we all moved from Texas to Milton, Fla. Seven years later, I sat in front of the television when the "Les Miles Show" came on. Maybe I just really liked football. Maybe i was desperate for a man to replace my father.
I was 10 years old, I was laying there watching the “Les Miles Show.” Golden Flake and Coca-Cola was the sponsor. I told my mother right there, if I ever have a son, I'm gonna name him Myles Tiger.
I convinced my first wife to let me name our first child Myles Tyger Rowbear1922. When it was a girl, we named her Leslie Rouge. Our next child was a boy and, sure enough, his name was Myles Tiger. My two dogs are named Mike and Nicky. I have 46 LSU hats. Last year, I found LSU national championship T-shirts on sale for $5. I bought all 18 in stock. When I was 19, we ran onto the field at the Bowl game, carrying a red stick and a tiger hat. More recently, I tried to convince my current wife bury me in purple and gold, she refused. Even before the Tebow Cell Phone's allegations, she thought I took this LSU thing too far. She told me I better get a tattoo if i wanted to be buried with anything related to a football team.
Sitting at a table, I rolled up my sleeve.
It’s a Tiger with the Words Geaux Tigers.
I hate tattoos, I really do. I’m just a very unhealthy LSU fan. I live it. I breathe it. I think about LSU football, I'm not exaggerating, 18 hours a day. I have always been that way. It just didn't start. That's what people don't understand. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is get on Tigerdroppings and see what's going on. I mean, I know it's not healthy. I've been knowing that a long time. I have a son 33 years old named Myles Tiger.
I moved to Louisiana in the Spring of 2007. I'd retired after a long career as a Texas state trooper. A wreck in a high-speed chase left me with a broken neck and in pretty constant pain. Retirement would give me a long-awaited rest. And I'd finally get to follow the Tigers up close. It was heaven.
My first football season in Louisiana was 2007.
The football gods, it seemed, were rewarding me for decades of loyal fanaticism. The Bayou Bengals were going to the national championship game. When we heard a small block of tickets were being sold to New Orleans, I had everyone I knew call to try to get a pair. That didn't work, but, from an old high school friend with corporate connections, a miracle. We were going to see LSU play for the national title at the Sugar Bowl. We found our seats and took in the crisp Dome air, the football team on the field, the tense countdown until kickoff.
I started crying.
When we got home, we framed my ticket stub and looked forward to 2008. Season 2 brought hopes of a repeat. Imagine, to be a fan from afar for your entire life and then walk into this. Last year, I went to more LSU games -- eight -- than I'd ever made it to before in a single season. I was at the Swamp, when LSU cut the UF lead, and I was there when UF scored 51 points to win. That night, me and a friend had a hotel reservation in Gainesville. We didn't bother, pointing the car West, toward home.
We just drove straight back to Louisiana, seriously, I bet we didn't say 10 words.

No connection other than graduating from there. I didn’t grow up an lsu fan and didn’t really want to go there, but financially it made too much sense and I wanted to go to a big school.

MBA from LSU-Shreveport. Always been a sports fan. Got told by my sons guidance counselor that if he did XYZ it would help when he went to LSU. I asked her "why in the hell would I send my son to that shitty town for college, dude wants to be a plumber and he's going to community college".

Father was 4 time SEC track and field champion 48-52
Mother was a Music major, Purple Jacket, which was the forerunner to the Golden Girls. Attended Istrouma HS where she was Homecoming queen --- was quite pretty, gifted and kind
I graduated from LSU in '80 with MSW

My whole fam went to LSU (i didn't). My oldest daughter is an LSU grad, husband is too. My only personal tie to it is Dr. Andonie (the little museum at Lodd Cook is named after him), he was my mom's obgyn and performed the c-section. That birthed me.

My grandfather grew up in the Permian (West TX) in the 30s/40s. His favorite two college football teams were LSU and Ohio St since he could catch their radio feeds. I think it was WWL out of Nola that stretched further during night games.
My dad was a senior in HS and already bleeding P&G while driving an hour each way to watch this phenom Pistol play on the freshman team.
He took me to see this Pistol Pete guy when I was about 10 months old while he was playing for Jazz. I went to the Earthquake game, several Dale Brown camps, and many heartbreaking losses before ever attending LSU.
LSU years were probably the best 5 year stretch of life. Proposed with MikeV as witness during last year there.
