From what you're seeing right now.

Oversaturated jobs would be: plant operator, Software engineer, Personal Injury lawyer in Louisiana, people trying to make money off TikTok

What exactly does the job do and how much are they banking a year?

Sky is the limit, especially if you own your own company.

Many people, including here, underestimate the difficult working conditions for those jobs.

Fire Alarm Techs - Most make $35/hr+

Qualified Fire Protection Engineers - We pay a guy $35K to review already reviewed plans, then fly out to look at the project and tell us we did a good job.

Locksmiths - Highly skilled/trained 'security access control' positions can bring in over $100K.

I was just looking at this in depth today.

I am a civil engineer with advanced schooling and the ability to leap into big tech/AI... but that sector is like a bunch of rats trying to funnel into a sewer drain, every talented kid coming out of STEM is trying to breakthrough in an industry full of layoffs. Meanwhile, universities graduate 12,000 civil engineers a year... with 20,000 retirees per year.

Wage growth for Civil has absolutely exploded over the past 5 years.

It feels like the famous scene from office space:

If you have solid basic math and science skills and want to work in air conditioning then medical PA/NP, and nurse anesthetists are always in demand. The former two make about $130k (but can make a lot more) and the latter in the $250k range.

I would agree with other post. Plumbers, welders, linemen etc. People that still do manual labor and actually work with their hands.

Im about to retire from my job, thinking about learning to weld better

Honestly, people laugh at me but get into Supply Chain early. Work in Energy. Work in the plants.

If you can get in to just basic middle management with 10+ years, you’ll pull down close if not over $200K a year with potential for more.
