A 27 ACT with strong grades is fine. Vanderbilt and GT are out, but all other schools mentioned will take a 27.

If he’s got no direction, why the frick is he talking to you?

You’re a janitor at Disney World...what could you possible offer him, other than advice on how to be a virgin.

LSU has a good mechanical & electrical engineering school.

I think Florida & UGA are your better schools after Vandy.

Auburn & Ole Miss are nothing to brag about.

Texas A&M is also a good school (for engineering).

MSU us decent.

Don't know much about Kentucky.

Here are all of the SEC Schoos ranked by US News Engineering Rankings:
Texas A&M (11)
Vanderbilt (36)
Florida (42)
Tennessee (60)
Auburn (65)
Missouri (89)
Kentucky (94)
Louisiana State (99)

I actually thought UGA would have been ranked higher..

Does it really matter? Anyone who has worked around engineers know 99% of the shite they learned in school doesn't matter. They show up to a plant, get thrown into a system, chase down technical documents and prints, and troubleshoot based on the specifications therein. It's not like they are building rocket ships, (I mean a few out of thousands are but very few). For the most part anyone who can read and has a basic knowledge of how to read prints could do the job most engineers do.

You wouldn't recommend Texas A&m for engineering? Really?

only thing he likes is sports
id say med school( all he does is school, sleep, and academic clubs) but he says he is too dumb for med. Anesthesiology or kinesilogy

idk what career in sports he could do

history or law, idk.
he says plastics interest him, so chem E was first option. i told him mechanical is what iron man did.

but alot of people in his school dont want to go to LSU( not a sexy place if youre from BR) and that due harassing the asian girls in tiger stadium

With a 27 ACT, kiss Rice, UT, Vandy and GT away.

Tulane is a liberal arts school. I'd shoot for Auburn.

I'd never recommend A&M.

If you are white with parents who went to college a 34 may not do it at Rice or Vandy. A 27 will do it if you are part of the Posse.

Found the pipefitter who hates all engineers.

Seriously though, Texas A&M seems to do a good job with getting engineers into the oil and gas industry. I've worked with several of them(mostly they were chemical engineers).

It may suck in other ways but their engineering school is certainly top shelf in most disciplines.

SEC top tier is Florida and TAMU.

If he wants to stay in the south then you're talking those two, Rice, and GT. GT being the premier southern engineering school.

Then LSU, Auburn, Moo St., Arkansas, and Tenneessee are next.
