whole industry is one disaster from social uproar a la germany. elec can get work anywhere. nuke few employers.
What? There is a ton of opportunity for nukes in commercial and research in the US, we are still moving ahead with SMRs in my company. They also get paid a good bit more than us EEs. It's a tough field though, need to be the right person for it. Not as many of them, so if you make it through, you shouldn't have issue finding a job. Us EEs on the other hand are much more abundant.
I was also just stating UF's engineering program is pretty decent and they have a very good school in the country for one of the engineering fields and a very good engineering school overall for the SEC.

id want a school with hotter girls then A&M
If you can't find yourself a hot woman willing to date you at a school that has 70k students it says a hell of a lot more about you than it does the student body.

Work for a firm here in the south. We have a couple of guys with degrees from Georgia Tech who are seen as the upper echelon (academically anyway, work ethic is another story) and the rest are just muddled up together with no real pecking order.
No one does the circle jerk better than the Auburn grads though.

Tulane is shite for engineering UNLESS you're going BME. Then Tulane is a good choice.
Tulane is a mediocre choice in BME.

He wants Michigan but I'm pushing Auburn. They give good scholarship
Michigan is a very good option generally. I don't know about their specific engineering programs, but overall it's top level as a place to be, and learn, and importantly, network.
A lot of good schools are places where students graduate, and then want to get out as fast as possible and move somewhere to have a life. Ann Arbor is full of ex-students who do everything in their power to stay in town and in touch. That attitude shouldn't be ignored.
