re: Were the Dixie Chicks victims of faux outrage when they denounced Pres. Bush in 2003?

You think George HW Bush was a bad person?
Its fairly unanimous, from both sides of the aisle and with anyone that knew him, that he was a great man. Jeb seems like a genuinely great person as well, he's just an awkward goober.
This is a weird thing to say.

They were systematically blackballed by clear channel communications and taken off the airways for what they said.

A comedian years ago summed it up pretty well. Said you can’t insult country music fans and the “little fat one” should just shut up bc without her pretty sisters “she would still be in Nashville working at a Lane Bryant”

That in and of itself is a red flag imho. When it's too good to be true...

According to Baker, the first President Bush became an intelligence agent in his teenage years and was later at the center of a plot to assassinate Kennedy that included his father, Prescott Bush, Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, CIA Director Allen Dulles, Cuban and Russian exiles and emigrants, and various Texas oilmen.

Natalie's harmonizing back in the day on Pat Green and other early era TX country albums was fantastic. The girl could flat out sing. And I liked the Dixie Chicks music well enough for what it was. Then she got fat, mad, subsequently broke, transitioned to a shaved head bull dyke looking thing and now can't carry a tune in a bucket. Nice move Nat!

Nope, you say stupid things that your fans think are stupid and they stop buying your stuff and going to your shows.

not really. The Left's hatred for all things/people not Leftist is a psychosis. Easy to understand their nonsensical ramblings.

"Adios Days" with her harmony is my favoritest country song ever.

I think that it was a brave thing to do and a wise business decision.
Whenever I party with my Leftist friends, somebody invariably puts on some Dixie Chicks tracks and we groove out, baby.

It had more to do with them going to Europe and talking shite about America. The place that paid their bills. As a business owner, you need to be aware of where your revenue is generated, and not create barriers in that space. They may have a musical talent, but were terrible business women.

yeah I think they grossly over estimated their cross over appeal, they were bigger than country music now so alienating their fan base was no big deal.

It's weird, but if he asked and they said yes, I don't get why he got lumped into the metoo stuff.
I don't think it's the Silverman's that lumped him in. They were whack watching buddies. I believe there were also many other girls that weren't so fortunate as to grant permission. He just started whacking in front of them. That's what got him, I believe.
