It is crazy to remember the hyper-patriotism that had gripped this country for the couple years after 9/11. What a wild time.

Turned out they were correct. The poorly educated whites that turned on them were signing the same tune as them when the gameshow host started saying it.
And progressives suddenly become pro-war when Obama came on the scene. Everyone's a hypocrite.

Well that's what happens when you lie to the country, start an unnecessary war based on that lie, and watch thousands of Americans and untold numbers of civilians die in that war.

Nah they were blackballed and shunned from the industry for what they said

This is why I can’t ever take the left seriously whenever they act like their vitriol towards Trump is some one-off occurrence because of how particularly “horrible” and “evil” HE is. Um, No. They were saying the same ignorant stuff about George W. I remember.
They were saying it about Reagan. I remember.

Well, we were going into Afghanistan no matter who was President after 9/11.

Except we're still stuck with the baggage of it. Decreased rights, much more heavily policed life and trillions wasted in stupidity. And I was dumb and naive and voted for it. Now I dont waste my time.

agreed, those goat fricking ragheads had a lot more lasting impact on our way of life than just the obvious initial attacks

They "won" in reality. It completely changed the world for the worse. If it wasnt an inside job all along anyway. I dont know what really happened but I dont believe we know half of it.

I'm not a tin hat guy but sometimes I wonder, I recall Time magazine ran a hypothetical article several years before the attack that was almost a template of what actually happened, FBI had advance warning of the Lockerbie bombing, a friend that I grew up with that retired as a CIA spook told me in the late 80s this was coming, who knows?

It is stupid to bring politics into any business.
Dolly Parton is a master of being vague on politics and it has suited her well over the decades.

kind of helps that she's actually a decent human being too, if she isn't, she should have a double wide full of Oscars
