My thought at first when I read the article. But, I was thinking that is how it is delivered to the actual Wendy’s locations.

Chili is one of the easiest meals to make on your own

I went to high school with this girl who worked at Wendy’s and she said they would scrape all the burnt left over crumbs of meat off the hamburger grill and put that into the chili

That's more than they charge for it at Wendy's.

Will their canned chili be as inconsistent as their restaurant chili?

Yeah. That’s actually their purposeful plan. The fresh non frozen meant went bad too quickly when they first started and they needed a way to reduce losses on the meat. So they created chili.

That’s bc it’s a perpetual cook. They never turn off the pot and just continue to add ingredients. A lot of cultures do this and it makes some of the best stew

When I worked at Wendy's as a teenager, we used the patties that stayed on the grill too long. They were just too overcooked to use as burgers. They weren't burnt or spoiled or anything like that.

We boiled them to get the grease out and then chopped them up with the burger-flipping spatulas.

This was about 30 years ago. I don't know how it is now.

I think that is part of the angle, like Cracker Jack, you don't know what surprise you will get.
