I thoroughly enjoyed most of the weddings I've attended

Got married 10/29/21.

I was in my fellowship at Alabama and my wife wanted a fall wedding. That was the only weekend we had a bye week. Worked out. Didn't get a honey moon till July though.

Pick a bye week (like I did)

Otherwise expect low attendance or a bunch of people crowding around a tv at the reception

if you’d rather watch football than go to their wedding you’re probably not actually that close to the couple so just don’t go?

This was my thinking when I ghosted my last wedding invite.
But nooooo. I still hear about it to this day… “you are my brother and the best man” “you could have told me you weren’t going to show” “mom and dad are pissed at you”
Like get over it. LSU plays Bama one time a year. My hands were tied

What exactly is so painful about going to a wedding?

Almost all of the ones I’ve been to were fun as hell.

Have you had to make this choice before?

Yes. We waited until just after New Year’s Day games.

It worked out well because the church was still decorated for Christmas. Didn’t have to pay for any of that shite. It was still NFL playoffs, but the priest was kind enough to give us an update during the homily - because he cared about it too. A deacon watching the games in back passed him an update.

Untrue, short-sighted and ignorant. Some people invest thousands in tickets and tailgating. They wait all year for a few weeks of football.

Personally, I don't care when someone gets married. I'm not paying for it so who gives a shite. I just won't be going.

Have you only ever been to Baptist weddings or something?

Every wedding that I’ve ever been to has been a big party with food, drinking, music, dancing, etc…

That’s really sweet that you invest so much money into going to your magic kingdom every year
