California was beautiful before any tribes migrated in. Nothing man has done has improved it, only led to more problems.
The area around Palm Springs could be magnificent, but for all the houses.
At least the Spaniards built haciendas that fit the conditions.
The horrific massive tearing up river beds in search of gold in the northern part of the state is so ugly, nature can't handle or hide it.

I love the ocean (large bodies of water) and it is a bit unappealing to me that the Pacific is so cold...I am used to GOM water temps
