No. The Bar is mostly rote memorization, which is why it’s a terrible indicator of minimum competence. As much as I critique law school, the training received in law school is vastly more important than the inch deep mile wide rote memorization done to pass the Bar.

If you graduate from law school in Wisconsin there is no bar exam. This really should be implemented in Louisiana.

Memorization or not, failing the bar typically means: (1) the person is too dumb to memorize or understand basic concepts about a number of practice areas or (2) was too lazy to sit down and study for about 75-90 days. Neither are ideal for long term prospects.
