If these two had not have happened, we would have been fricked..

1. Germany invading the USSR and creating a 2 Front war.
2. Japan bombing Pearl Harbor when they did.

If Japan had waited longer, and Hitler had kept the peace with Russia, Germany would have easily conquered all of Europe before we had entered WW2.

It would have resulted in the Man in the High Castle scenario.

Well that was never going to happen. A key feature of Nazism is Lebensraum and wiping out communism at large. The key moment was him invading Yugoslavia in April and delaying Operation Barbarossa by a month and a half. I think Hitler would have taken Moscow if he got that extra time back.

“Now at this very moment I knew that the United States was in the war, up to the neck and in to the death. So we had won after all! ... How long the war would last or in what fashion it would end no man could tell, nor did I at this moment care ... We should not be wiped out. Our history would not come to an end ... Hitler's fate was sealed. Mussolini's fate was sealed. As for the Japanese, they would be ground to a powder. All the rest was merely the proper application of overwhelming force.”

-Winston Churchill on his thoughts after finding out that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor.

There was never a chance for any successful, or even plausible strategy for invasion of the United States in WWII.

True.

Either attack Russia earlier that year, or wait until the following Spring.

Imagine if he had not waited to annihilate the Brits at Dunkirk, too. They would have had nothing left.

I still don’t understand why he did this. Yugoslavia, they really really pissed him off, but he should have waited until after he dealt with Russia to deal with them. What the frick was Yugoslavia going to do to the most powerful military on the planet?

Even if Germany takes all of Europe, Japan doesn't do Pearl Harbor and instead waits until their conquest is finished. Then after both are ready and they join forces using Mexico as a base (collusion), they still could not have taken the USA.

The biggest thing is they have to travel the oceans, and we would have seen all of this materializing and been churning out a massive Navy. Their troop transports would never reach Mexico. Even if they did they wouldn't have the sheer numbers to take the USA because their armies still needed to occupy and hold Europe and Asia.

The sheer size of our country and the vast numbers of gun owners make occupying this country impossible.

This is the main question . If we all have nukes they leave us alone . No one really wanted mainland America they just wanted to be left alone to dominate their regions. Plus it’s the Russians that really destroyed the Germans . Without Russian men (with American supplies ) I don’t know that an invasion of France would have been successful

I don’t think German or Japan could have successfully occupied USA, Russia, or China. Too many people to control and too much land to patrol.

Also the US has the 2nd amendment. So even if the Japanese and Germans joined up and attacked the mainland after Pearl Harbor they would not have gotten very far. Think about how many trained WW1 vets and 15-60 year old males would have had a rifle ready to frick shite up the first squad of enemy troops rolled into town.

But Germany and Japan didn't play by the rules of the Allies. They would've just executed entire villages and states in reprisals.

I mean the Yugoslav partisans gave the Nazis hell but if Germany wasn't fighting a global war they could've pacified them.

If Germany and Japan had beaten everyone else and our army, a simple insurgency would not have dislodged them.

The Japanese were sending kamikaze subs to California filled with plague infected fleas just before we dropped atomic bombs on them.

Sure there was a chance. Always a chance.

There may have been 5 people in the World who thought Japan would frick up or be capable of attacking Pearl Harbor.

U-Boats were in the Gulf. U-Boats were close enough to see US Eastern CITY lights.

Guarding the entirety of the mainland US Coast would be very difficult.

Yes, there was a chance that Germany could’ve strengthened its army and invaded the mainland US.

Thankfully, Dr. Henry Jones Jr. and his father foiled that plan.

I don’t know why people say this. In reality, if America didn’t intervene in the war, the Nazis would have still lost and a Red wave would have swept over all of Europe.

Stop making sense. Alotta these folks can't handle it. They have this desperate need to believe the war would've been lost without american intervention and that had it not been for the US, nazism would've swept across the world.

The monster was the USSR. We should've listened to patton.

This. It did happen at basically the same time as Pearl. Just wasnt a war goal of Japan to be prosecuted fully. They wouldn't have gone much further in all likelihood, but the did occupy parts of USA for a while.
