Radar existed in WWII so a sneak attack was impossible. Assuming the Japa take Hawaii, we would have fortified the west coast even more. Assuming they could cross a few thousand miles of ocean and get through extra defenses, the west coast is full of thick forests, mountains, and deserts. Good luck to them getting through all that.

Americans are gun toking, arse kicking, rule breaking MF's. It's what made our country strive for freedom against the red coats 250 years ago. We would kick some arse if anyone ever tried.

thats the thing of it, right? The three chokepoints work in reverse as well. So you cut those off just in case and basically isolate the invasion to the western half of the country. Thats just a lot of damn coast to protect back then too.

I don’t know why people say this. In reality, if America didn’t intervene in the war, the Nazis would have still lost and a Red wave would have swept over all of Europe. Apparently not many Americans are aware that after December 1941, the Germans were mainly fighting a defensive war in the Eastern Front. And the Nazis certainly weren’t capable of launching an attack on America, they would have to completely lock down Europe first, then spend a few years building up a large fleet. Plus, we had the atom bomb and they didn’t because of “Jewish physics”, so it would probably never get to that point anyway. Basically what it boils down to is that the Germans would probably never achieve total victory against all the Allies.

No. Germany and Japan never developed a bomber that could disrupt out production capacity. Meanwhile, we were flying a hundred missions a day out of Britain hammering their factories.

I’ve been binge watching The Man In The High Castle

Interesting show on prime videos that depicts a post-ww2 us defeat and joint occupation by Japan and Germany

The US population was the sum of both Japan and Germany at the time. It would have been really tough to sustain anything over here.

Invasion?

No.

Could the Germans have continued development of their "wonder weapons" to give us some grief?

Absolutely.

War goes on another few years, Germans develop longer range missiles, those can cause quite a bit of damage even without nukes.

Let's say extremely difficult. Its not like they could set a fake army like we did for D-day and the coast is too big to spread out their forces. They would have had to concentrate on one spot and we would see them coming.

What navy could invade us?

And unlike the rest of the sissy boys that gave up their right to defend themselves from tyrannical governments, an invading army would have faced 100+ million armed civilians. Just think of trying to keep supply lines and order with that going on

The answer is 'Yes...but...'

It was never any thing more than a marginal risk--and even then, people tend to have fantasies that look like The Man in the High Castle. If the mainland had been invaded, it would have been on the back end of the Japanese occupation of Kiksu and Attu, as a limited occupation of mainland Alaskan territory. It counts, even if its only marginally the mainland.

No, but they would have become the global hegemon and the US, with no war machine, would have to play ball with them and be their subordinate in global affairs.
