What is she referring to? Its a little vague. Did he touch her inappropriately or beat her when she cried in pain?

gimmick - a trick to attract business
by telling the patient they can't come to the back or that you recommend they don't come to the back, it allows the dentist to perform unnecessary work (aka more business) because parents won't interrupt and ask to take a look or anything during the procedure and then the dentist can just come out front and say, "oh we went ahead and did it while he was in the back and already numb in that area" and make it look like they did you a favor by knocking it out right then and there and saving you from having to come back. The gimmick is avoiding being monitored by an adult in order to draw up more revenue

Well now that you are "In The Know", will you keep the appointment?

I read about this last night. I feel bad for any kids treated this way by their dentist.
My children's pediatric dentist in BR also didn't allow parents in the treatment rooms but he didn't do any of these awful things.
I was always informed of procedures that needed to be done at future visits and had to give approval for those.
My children were treated very well by the dentist and his staff.

Yes he did they same thing to our son about 4 years ago. He was 7 at the time and they took him to the back without our permission and pulled 2 teeth, then we got a bill for it. Never asked us, nor did we every okay it. Of course our son was upset about, we weren't allowed back there. He came back up front to my wife crying and missing 2 teeth.
frick all that. I’d consider removing some of his teeth.

I never liked him much when we were at Smile Stars. We saw Dr. Hunt, and when she left that practice to start her own, we stayed with Smile Stars for a short period since the kids were familiar with the place. I got a bad vibe from him the one time my kids did see him--nothing awful happened, he just seemed creepy and the kids didn't seem to trust him. After that we left and followed Dr. Hunt to her new practice.

The kids have never had a bad experience there so I’m not sure what I’m gonna do.

How did you not physically assault the man? As someone else said, I'd have removed some of his teeth with whatever blunt object was around me.

I never believe these people and their stories from years back but I 100% believe this girl. I certainly wouldn’t take a kid to this guy.

Ahh closer but still not there. A gimmick would be something like having a bunch of cool toys in the waiting room for the children. It may attract people but doesn't add real value to the dentist's underlying product. A cheap trick.
What you described is just fraud.

we had a wonderful pediatric dentist that I always used and was always in the room. When my husband was activated military we had to change dentists. First appointment with Dr. Ripple they try this you can't go back bullshite with my two little girls (this was never said on the phone when I made appointment). I said absolutely not we are leaving now and not paying for the visit or a cancellation fee or anything. They tried the kids act better without parents around. I said nope we can try with me in the room and see what happens. They allowed me to go back with them and they had cleanings. I never returned and paid cash at the other dentist until deployment was over and we were back on our regular insurance. I was always super creeped out by the entire experience. And it has been roughly 20 years since it happened. And I never even remotely came close to forgetting how freaked out I was.

Just read the detailed accounts from so many folks on facebook. Bizarre, twisted stuff. Shocking to me that it's just coming out now with how many different accounts there are.
