I think you ought to look at your friend a little more critically at this point.
I'm guessing it's possible you might be just as much a dip shite as he is and you feel like a pretty good person yourself so you have difficulty condemning someone so similar to yourself for such a heinous crime.
Point is, your friend is now wanted for murder. That's not something even shitheads can get wrapped up in on their best day.
