They should board from the back of the plane forward like Continental used to do it.... much faster and less people blocking the aisle. Children and disabled first... then first class... then back of the plane forward.

What about luggage assholes, they make you check your bag when they get even remotely close to full

If you load back to front idiots still will take the first overhead bin they see. Then the front passengers bins are full, they have to walk to the back to find a bin, and then double back to their seat causing a bigger cluster frick.

Yep, I can’t stand people that do this shite.

They should board the obese last. Walk of shame.

Should force them to wear tags that have their weight and how much extra fuel is needed to carry them.

That sucks...that will give the window people first dibs on overhead space. I'm an aisle guy. Terrible idea.

This is true…plus the middle seat getting overhead priority is trash

That is going to have to change. There is no way someone is leaving their 3 year old to get on a plane by themselves because they have window seat.

Will be interesting to see how they handle priority boarding based off status and overhead space.

I've never understood the desire to board first. I want the least amount of time on the plane as possible. I want to board last and deplane first.

I understand the overhead bin space issue, but first-class should have dedicated bin space.

What about travelling with old people or young kids who need assistance?

My first thought as well. If a family books seats together this new system will force them to split up during boarding. This is a huge flaw in this new system.

A common sense policy.

They are to be commended.

Still flying Delta/SW, though

So a family or group of three will end up with their overheads spread all over the plane? Sounds wonderful for disembarkation.

The new boarding process, known as “WILMA,” will begin for flights on Oct. 26, the airline said. WILMA stands for window-middle-aisle.

Except that it doesn't make sense as an acronym.

Wi -Window

M-middle

A-aisle

Where's the fricking L come from, A&M?

They were never going to go to this system for First Class/Status Passengers. I would like to see them break up the status pax more as Group 1 can be half the plane.

IMO:
Preboard: Global Services
Group 1: Premier 1K and First Class
Group 2 Platinum and Gold
Group 3: Silver and United CC Holders

It's not uncommon for letters to be added to an acronym to make it into a word.
