He could have walked into a convenience store, walked to the counter, then ate Slim Jims until a LEO took him somewhere warmer.

Hell, he could have hung around one of those and just stayed there as long as he wasn't being disruptive.

Because unhoused shifts the blame from the individual to society. Liberalism teaches that it’s always someone else’s fault. And since conservatives disagree with this philosophy, it’s always their fault.

I know the Sports Complex was open as a warning station yesterday and again today, but I don’t know if it was overnight.

I guess she forgot to check on Carl, her dear friend, that she cared so much about.

In terms of political correctness, in which year will the term “Homeless” be on par with “Retarded?”

Well.... It's pretty retarded that people actually say "unhoused".

It's south Louisiana. How often does it get cold enough that dedicated warming shelters are needed?

People in Kansa probably don't have much in the way of tsunami protection either.

When I learned one day how much charities spend on themselves was the day I quit donating.

this, how do you get to be 65 and can’t put a roof over your head?

Do you know every scenario in life? Are you familiar with all of the circumstances?

This world and times has made everyone so cruel. I am not saying this is anyone's fault, or that society is responsible, but goodness, can we have a little sympathy/compassion?

When Carter was president we referred to them as bums, then when Reagan was in office the media coined the term homeless. Years later during the Trump years the term changed to unhoused.

Real question is how many are homeless because of no fault of their own.

I looked up CLASS. It's Central Louisiana Aids Support Services. Doesn't look like it deals with homeless people unless, I guess, they have Aids.

It’s almost as if this planet that God supposedly fined-tuned for human life is actually tough as hell for our frail bodies to survive without millennia of technological progress that we take for granted.

That's exactly what it is. They provide screening for HIV and counseling for "at risk" populations, but do not provide services for the homeless. Alexandria has many resources, such a the Homeless Coalition. There are also subsidized apartments where homeless people, some mentally ill, can stay and get help straightening out finances dealing with addictions etc.
