Yea, frick that. I had all intentions of purchasing a home in West Bradenton or West Sarasota back when we moved here. I finally elected to move out by the interstate. We are 5.1 miles from Siesta Key. Im close enough. I can walk on the beach anytime I want and I dont have to worry as much about that crap
I’m in the same boat. I’ve been casually looking around the area and while it’s tempting to buy as close to where I live now as I can, it’s been stressful as hell helping my friend deal with all this shite. I want no part of it.

Do you ever see the spoiled brats filming that Siesta Key reality show around town?

I’m acquaintances with a few of them and it seems like they terrorize that town

I called it this morning that this thing will reach a 2 before making land. The Gulf is so warm.

What are the odds of it getting to a 3?

Well, I called a 2 in the early AM of January 7, 1985...so I think I win.

Eyewall trying to close itself off...The part that looks like it is clear is not really clear. The radar cannot 'see' through all of the weather between itself and the center.

That poor fisherman that went overboard 80 miles off Sanibel Island never had a chance. Poor bastard.

No. I go down there some to eat but honestly, I spend more time up near Anna Maria and the mouth of Tampa Bay. I need to spend more time in the boat down around Siesta Key and south Sarasota. One day, the wife and I Put the boat it at Anna Maria and rode to Marco Island. Just took our time and had a place to stay on the water over night. Just packed the cooler in the boat and enjoyed the ride down. Tied to the dock, stayed over night and rode back the next day

Was one of our highlights since we moved here. Amazing time.

Living the dream. That’s about what our weekend getaways look like. I thank my lucky stars that I randomly moved here on a whim 10 years ago.

So how far west is TD4 headed, Mr expert?

No clue.

But I bet landfall is further west than the western portion of that cone.

Based on what? Not a damn thing.

All I know is that if the center of this one is gonna make landfall west of Cape San Blas it is gonna have to get ready to make a hard left. What is your gut saying now, Odysseus?

ETA: This is me, figuratively, opening the gate.

If we put all our guts together, I bet we could get the surefire bead on precisely where this thing will go!!!
