Getting some nice gusts in St. Pete. I don’t think we’re anywhere near this thing.

Similar down here. Winds have slowed a little for a few mins but we still have heavy rain. Pretty much rained most of the night here as well

Looking at those rain totals I think the people who called this a South Carolina storm may be owed some apologies.

Wet.

He should be fine otherwise.

GL to him on the Crucible. It'll be one to remember.

Yeah it settled down quite a bit and trying to pick back up now.

A good buddy of mine and his wife and 2 golden retrievers just got back into their house after spending that last 6 months living with me after flooding in Shore Acres(neighborhood in St. Pete notorious for flooding). I don’t think I have it in me to do that again, as terrible as it sounds. I’ve got a longtime gf and dog living with me in an apt :|

It does this pretty much anytime there’s a big storm. The last significant hurricane saw nearly 2 feet of water in their house. A real estate agent just told me there are 125 houses for sale in that neighborhood.

It is worth noting that when people were calling it a SC storm models were showing a direct landfall on SC from an east coast storm, not a FL landfall and an eventual stall over SC, or loop-dee-loop into SC after crossing GA and going back offshore.

It is like calling Hurricane Ivan a Florida storm, though with not quite the same epic voyage.

Hot and sunny in August vs windy and rainy with mild temps: give me the wind and rain please.

Wait until it gets to NC and stalls. The flooding will be historic. Already canceling school here for Friday in NC. This was also our wettest July in 40 years.

Yea, frick that. I had all intentions of purchasing a home in West Bradenton or West Sarasota back when we moved here. I finally elected to move out by the interstate. We are 5.1 miles from Siesta Key. Im close enough. I can walk on the beach anytime I want and I dont have to worry as much about that crap
