I have always heard it is excellent. It certainly has an extremely strong network in NOLA, particularly in legal circles.

This is so sad to hear.
My Alma Mater, albeit a VERY long time ago, college admissions were 100% when I graduated, with several Ivy League admissions.
Some of the bottom people in my grade applied to a highly regarded (mostly in their own mind) all boys school and was placed in all honors classes.
Haven't been back in decades, sad to hear the academics have slipped, passed by and it certainly looks like the $$$ haven't slipped at all.

I see the comparison as far as middle of the class kids who are just going to SEC schools but Dunham is not producing kids going to elite schools at the clip CD is, not even close. Dunham sure is hell isnt producing the dean of Columbia Journalism School like CD did. The four schools I named are the ones with the best college admissions in the state among private schools, by far.
I knew a bunch of kids at Dunham that were evangelical fanatics who legitimately believed man walked with dinosaurs. That doesn’t exist in New Orleans let alone at CD.

Both are factors, and I'm sure Brother Martin and Rummel have kids with "drive", but their National Merit Scholar numbers pale in comparison.

That's because Jesuit completely focuses on it and preps those kids from 8th grade for it.

It's the student, not the school in most cases.
The school is not irrelevant. But elite students are going to be elite just about anywhere.
