Sacred heart is too high. Exclusive, but rarely generates anything of significance other than eventual MRS. Degrees.

What are you basing that on exactly? It looks like you just grabbed the most expensive for your top 7. If you look at objective data such as National Merit Semi-Finalists, average ACT scores, etc, in no universe would McGehee be above Jesuit. Also, Rummel should never appear on any Academic list.

Pretty good list. St Martin’s should be lower.

Ironically, the top private schools in Louisiana are in the areas of the state with the highest black population..............

I know St Martins had had a prolonged rough stretch with a lot of attrition and cultural shift, but around Katrina the academics and admissions were excellent. A lot of doctors in Metairie sent their kids there and it produced a few Ivies in every class. Now, who knows. I saw their college admissions a few years ago and it was basically indistinguishable from Curtis. Word is they are bouncing back. I hope so for its sake.

St. Martin’s has been on the rise in the last few years with their change in headmaster. Good focus on academics as well as athletics as of recent, and has seen many very good multi-sport athletes come through, which is something that is very difficult for especially boys to do at your larger parochial schools in the city. Definitely hit a rough patch a few years ago, but in the last 4 years has made a huge turnaround.

That ain’t irony. People looking for success in those areas flood to one of three sets of schools-

Private / parochial

Selective public school

Suburban public schools (Zachary, Central, Ascension schools, Livingston schools)
