this is a rhetorical trick simpletons use thinking it makes people defensive. please try to focus on the topic.
Sure thing…or you are just upset I didn’t apologize that you got your feelings hurt.
quote:
again, you just made up that the coaches and staff ignored "who can pitch and hit" you just made it up. completely out of nothing.
Even Jay admitted they focused on the wrong analytics when they built the team this year in their lost to A&M but you keep focusing on things that dont make you a good baseball player.
quote:
you want to be insulting and petty, I get it. still waiting for evidence. its a bad season, you don't need to read your personal pet issue of being anti-analytics into it.
It’s unfortunate that you got your feeling hurt but here is how I know you have no idea what you are talking about. Moneyball had nothing to do with the analytics you are referencing. It had to do with ERA and pitching efficiency, not how hard a kid throws. It had to do with OBP and walks and slugging %, not exit velocity and launch angle and “expected batting average”.
We took everything great about baseball and the analytic that go along with it and completely convoluted it.
quote:
this is made up, you don't know this happened
If you believe this, you are an idiot.
I don’t think anyone expected back to back national championships, but being competitive would have been great. This is awful.
quote:
While I’m not going to disagree, who exactly on this pitching staff was “chasing for fast ball velocity”? Nobody throws that hard lol
I think “throwing hard” is relative. Kid pitching now’s fastball is 96 but struggles throwing a strike. 9 hole took him for a ride on a slider maybe that was 81. Assuming a missed spot. Not great pitching. Or not great pitch calling. Your choice.

This is what happens when you chase exit velocity and fastball velocity as opposed to kids who can actually play baseball. It’s embarrassing the amount of money (NIL) we spend and have kids who can’t pitch and hit.

Ha! I was waiting for it.

No shock that people on this board would have a problem with this. Yall always tell on yourselves.
Here is the problem (and I’m sure you know this and are just trolling…or I hope so at least). No one gives a shite the color of their skin or their gender. Problem is, these are the people, overall, that absolutely suck at their job. Has nothing to do with race or gender (hell, I’m a fricking woman). Just DO YOUR GOD DAMN JOB.

It’s absolutely awful! New Orleans and the surrounding area have to be the worst. I couldn’t get the fill in mail lady to take stamped letters the other day. She said she couldn’t take that kind of mail. We sometimes ship out products with USPS. Asking them to scan the parcels is like asking for a kidney. So now we print out a manifest and they still won’t scan that. I have contacted the station supervisor which changes weekly and the postmaster general here in Nola. For some reason, no one can get the carriers to do their job. It’s terrible. The women carriers are the worst. Lazy as hell!

I think Curtis went there for lower school and maybe start of middle school, but I'm pretty sure he's been at CD since 7th grade at least.
Curtis was at St. Martins until 8th grade and then transferred to CD and stayed back a year to repeat 8th again there.

But St martins has seen better days as a school. Although their basketball team was quite good this year.
They did have a decline back a bit and lost a few kids when they turned over headmasters, but I would say they are in pretty good shape again. Have several good athletes there right now and are just building back enrollment. Had a drop off in football this year with losing Harlem, but that was understandable. Basketball team was made it to Lake Charles this year and was ranked 2nd for most of the year. Baseball is currently ranked 1st in state.
re: Track Coaches/Former Track Athletes- any advice?
Posted by LSUlove on 3/7/26 at 4:56 pm to RandySavage
Time her splits and try to improve those incrementally. 800 isn’t really long distance and needs to be thought of as almost a sprint. Clearly not like a 100, but I ran the 400 and XC my dad who was a track coach always had me train for the 400 by running the 800 as a sprint. Meaning just full throttle and striding across the straight aways.
1600 she needs to focus on improving her 1/4 mile splits one by one. That last lap needs to be run like a 400.

Thank you. Bermuda it is. Yes, our pool gets a lot of sun.
Agree, I'd love to know. I think it became over run with weeds and my husband did some kind of treatment in the fall which killed pretty much everything. After, there was very little St. Aug left.
Hoping to take better care of it this time around.
Is Bermuda sod readily available in the New Orleans area?

Were there this summer and had an amazing time! Stayed at the Spring Hill Suites. Perfect location and great hotel. Bar upstairs was great. Spent a lot of time at the bar at the Hotel Drover. Really nice but expensive drinks. Great espresso martinis.
Kind of felt like a safer French Quarter. Easy to walk everywhere. Ate at Cattleman's, really good. Watched the rodeo at Billy Bob's. Can't remember other places we ate but we were very surprised at how much we enjoyed the area. Not really in to the western vibe but it was a lot of fun!

Help me with my yard

I have a pool in my back yard that takes up a large percentage of the space. I have roughly a 5 ft patch of grass that runs along 3 sides. When we initially put the pool in, we sodded with St. Aug grass about 5 years ago and just left it alone. Well, this winter, it looks like we have no grass yet. Our front yard is St. Aug and while brown, it is thick. The back yard is nothing but dirt.
So I figured, now may be a good time to replace the grass. I'd rather not use St. Aug again and I'd really prefer something seeded if possible. Any suggestions? Low maintenance would be a plus. I'd put turf, but we have dogs.

and after adjusting for demographics such as poverty and race,
This is why you can't trust this data. Several years ago, the state of La decided to alter their school evaluations to include this type of data in their grading of schools. You had many schools rise from very low grades the year before to A or B schools just by manipulating this data. These kids weren't any smarter, they were just graded on a lower scale because of their race or poverty level.
My kids were in an advanced public school, one of the best in the state. Their curriculum made zero sense. There were just so many things wrong with it. Now in private school, their scores outmatch many of their friends still in this top public school, even ones that are in the running for valedictorian. They are challenged much more and while their GPA might be a little lower due to harder grading scale, their ACT scores are much higher.
After knowing what I know about the public school education in La, there is nothing that will convince me that our education system is #2 in the country.
re: Anyone self-published with Amazon?

Thanks for this info! I also just recently finished writing a young readers novel. Have you published any other way as well? Are you in any bookstores? Did you order hard copies for yourself directly from Amazon to have on hand? Do they hold any claim over your novel if you publish with them initially?
Probably 20 years ago, I'm sure lots have changed. It was great through. Grew up skiing Keystone and while they really weren't the same, enjoyed it just as much. Hated Steamboat.

watched her make a gumbo once by adding the uncooked/unbrowned chicken and sausage to the stock...who the frick does that?
In that area, this is actually really common. I'm from around that area and that's how my grandparents made their gumbo, how my dad makes his gumbo and how I make my gumbo. Season the raw chicken really well and after you have your dark roux and trinity in the pot, put the water in and then your chicken and fresh sausage.
Guess I can see how it is weird, but its the way we have always done it.
