I’m seeking tips on how to bring down your energy bill during the summer without compromising A/C usage.
Do you have any suggestions?

Get dark out shades and keep them closed. Shut doors. Basically keep it as dark as possible. Also, shower early or late. Now during prime electricity hours.

Spend money to make your home more energy-efficient and hope that you can break even at some point in the future.

Darken windows as much as possible, ceiling fans ON, interior doors OPEN (unless you close vents in unused rooms).

I did that on the upstairs windows one year- it worked well but my hubby wasn’t pleased with how trashy it looked.

How many people are at your house?

Use blinds and curtains
Turn vents off if you don’t use that room
Seal around doors and windows
Unplug appliances if not in use
Don’t use lights

you aren't bringing it down without running the AC less or investing a lot in insulation. every degree higher on the thermostat saves money on the power bill.

When we had our house built, we had extra insulation in the walls and had them blow in aboot 16" 0f insulation in the attic. People around here complain about $4-800 monthly bills. We have lived here 25 years and just broke $200 for the first time, last year. Highest ever was $212.
I believe Home Depot will let you use the insulation blowing machine if you buy the insulation from them. Doing a whole house will pay for itself in less than a year.

My AC is on 80 when I'm not at home, 72 when I'm home. It's been rough. I had a window unit in my shed to use in case of power outages. I put that in my bedroom and at night I have the central AC thermostat at 80 and run the window unit. It's helped.

Canadian? Jk
I bought a window unit bc our A/C couldn’t keep up. Run both on hot days and it has kept our bill lower.

Really depends on your home.
We have a large picture window in our living room. We recently added a covered patio to the backyard by the window.
Electric is down about $200 from last year due to the window no longer being in direct sunlight.
