Recently had our bi-monthly service. In the summary they always email me afterwards, there was this nugget:

quote:

Tipping (NEW): Tech tipping = See customer portal. Techs get compensated fairly without tipping and it is in not required.

Are you O-T ballers tipping your pest control guy (or girl, it’s 2026) now?

Last year I had my house generator serviced. When I went to pay online, they asked for a tip for the technicians that did the work.

Its ridiculous.

Tipping him is actually worthwhile if you have an issue. They will give extra traps and such.

Mine came up for the yearly termite cap pulling and injections, it was close to $1500, I didn't renew it...

When I was checking out at the local grocery I asked the cashier how she was doing. She said great because she had already made $90 in tips that day. It left me wondering if she was telling everybody that to try and make them feel obligated to tip or if a lot of people really are tipping the cashier at the grocery. I could understand it if she were bringing and loading groceries into vehicles but the baggers do that.

I live near a fancy little market that has high end ingredients and pre-made side dishes, etc.

You still shop yourself and bring it to the counter. It has a tip suggestion of 22.5% at checkout. I hit no tip every time. The person doesn't get up from their damn stool behind the register.

I know some people must do it, because it's got affluent clientele (caviar, etc.). But damn, 22.5% on top of their prices is like paying for a nice restaurant waiter that did a great job all night.

I notice when places do have tip suggestions it some start with the higher amount
30%
24%
20%
So if your not paying attention you hit the first number which used to be 15%

By telling everyone that, wouldn't that make you feel better about not tipping?

DONT TIP IF YOU DONT WANT TO!!!

Y’all act like such pussies when it comes to this. A lot of people like to sling a few bucks extra for this so it makes it easier.

my favorite day of the year is slipping my pest control guy a 20 in his rear pocket and slapping his arse the 18 minutes he's at my house and telling him how much i appreciate him squirting his tin can around my property a few times.

Remember that tips are not subject to federal income tax now so reduce your tips accordingly.

Baw, just buy a bottle of Talstar P and a 1-gallon hand pump sprayer and do it yourself.
