Anyone installed one and was there improvement?
Is it a good thing for the engine and longevity ?
Fuel mileage decrease?
What exactly does it do and best brand?
Thanks in advance-

I use a range device on my 6.2L.
It will buy you time but the AFM lifters are still inside the engine and are still prone to failure. IE it doesn't remove the problem entirely. The only way to get rid of the problem for good is new lifters, non-afm cam, and a tune, which is a pretty expensive proposition if you pay a shop to do it.
There is no change in performance and it would be difficult to measure any change in fuel economy.
ETA: If you haven't committed to getting the internal engine work done it is definitely worth doing (my range device was $150 or so going by memory).

I guess it's a cost/benefit analysis of comparing the disabler cost plus the extra fuel cost against the cost of repair for when the lifters fail. I would assume the lifter repair is more expensive.
Is it safe to assume at some point in a GM the lifters will fail? If so, the disabler sounds like it may be worth it to me

I can give you 11,580 reasons to install one before those P.O.S. lifters collapse into your cylinders.

I've used one for several years. gas mileage for sure improved just a little but not enough to matter. fuel is actually lost already those lifters when they are operating. if you get a disabler, get the name brand one bc the others aren't always firmware updated.
this only help if you don't already have stuck lifters.

I have one in my ‘14 Silverado. It’s the “range” brand. It keeps it at v8 24/7 and haven’t had any issues at all.

I've not given it much thought.
A V6 engine is in my truck an on just a rare occasion, I see it go to V4. Very rare.

My wife has the 6.2 in her Yukon. I'm about to unload it for a Yukon with the baby Duramax. Throwing misfire codes intermittently, not a plug or coil. Sign of things to come I'm sure.

No.
Its better but its not a true DFM like swapping the cam and lifters
The lifters can still collapse.

I also have a Range on my Yukon. Who knows if the motor will last longer. At least it turns off the stop/start. Luckily I have the 5.3. seems like the best of the 3 motors.

I have one on my 2011 Silverado and it works fine. NO noticeable fuel mileage change.
I bought mine off of Amazon for like 45 bucks.

I’ll NEVER buy a car with this BS.
