Security sporting goods in Alexandria.

But seriously Boone's Hunting and Trapping in Woodworth is a little gem. Just pass up the entrance to the shooting range and you run in to it. Just a little building behind their house but a great place to buy a gun and some ammo.

The conditions of the roads in and around the greater Saline/Larto complex is more than disappointing. It's one of the main reasons I don't fish it as much as I'd like. I've always launched at Phil's landing off Cross bayou and seems like I have to fix something on my trailer or boat after every trip.

This seems like it would be right for your situation.
Not all PTA's are the same. Family member had the exact same issue, went to one PTA who couldn't do it and then another that had him in and out in 15 minutes. He did however just pay the fine instead of trying to rectify the situation.
I really hate to hear that. Any word on arrangements? I've been looking but haven't found an obituary yet.
Indian Creek falls within the Alexander State Forest WMA so that's where you need to look for regs. You can't set up on the recreation area so be sure to check the map and know the boundaries.
If you are going to the DMV just bring your cards and ask them to add the endorsements. They will want to make copies of the cards. I got my lifetime license, hunter education, and boater education added, all of which show up on my LA Wallet app now. I got the app after adding my stuff so I'm not sure if the app just has that information already through the state or if it's because I added it at the DMV.

So you peaked my curiosity about this trailer, Google says it's somewhere between 2800 and 3600 so that plus horses.

re: 1/2 ton diesel engines

Posted by HeftyBear on 2/14/22 at 5:10 pm to
It's an aluminum 3 horse bumper pull trailer loaded with 3 horses and tack. I've looked a few times for the trailers weight and never found an exact number but the horses and tack are probably 2000-2500lb.s so that plusses the trailer.

This is exactly why I got mine. Fuel economy for my weekday commute and the capability of weekend towing.

I have a 2018 ecodiesel. I've had one issue with the engine but it was related to a recall that I had just received the notice for a week prior to the truck acting up. I also had an issue with my touch screen bubbling causing it to go crazy with ghost touches, luckily the warranty covered that.

As far as fuel mileage goes I average 23 MPG on the interstate and 26-27 on the hwy. We also pull a 3 horse bumper pull loaded down fairly often and it handles the load very well.

All you Baws heading to your camps today need to be stocking up on mosquito dope like its toilet paper in March of 2020. The mosquitoes are thick!!
Ladder stand on the edge of a bedding area. Thermacell is doing work. Warmer than I like to hunt but hey, it's opening day!

Big Green Is Back: Remington Ammo Plant Working 24/7

by American Rifleman Staff - Monday, April 12, 2021

Remington Ammunition is back in operation, and its new president, Jason Vanderbrink, addresses consumers straight from the factory floor in his latest "Where's the Ammo?" video above.

"Today, we're in our American manufacturing facility in Lonoke, Ark.," Vanderbrink said. "You'll see that Big Green is back and stronger than ever."

Following Remington Outdoors' bankruptcy in 2020, Vista Outdoor, parent company of Federal Premium, purchased the Remington ammunition facility in Arkansas, along with most of Remington's trademarks. Immediately following the acquisition, Vista sent a number of experienced managers down to the Lonoke facility to get production back on track.

The lack of consistent production at the Remington ammo plant is considered one of the elements in the perfect storm of supply chain issues that have plagued the ammo market through 2020 and into 2021.

"You know what? I am sick and tired of not being able to find Remington ammunition on the shelves," he said. "We are fixing that. American manufacturing is about to roar, and Remington ammunition is back."

Remington, one of the largest ammunition facilities in the United States, had difficulty obtaining the raw materials needed to fill its capacity. As a result, employees were laid off, machines were idled, all while domestic ammunition demand reached unprecedented heights. With Vista Outdoor's management, production is flowing.

"Our workforce is doing fantastic, and our raw material suppliers have really come through, so now, Remington's going 24/7, and everyone will get to enjoy the quality ammunition that Lonoke, Ark. makes," Vanderbrink said.

Now under competent management, the Remington plant has a bright future ahead, and consumers can take a look at what's rolling out from the factory at Remington Ammunition's new website. As production ramps up, Vanderbrink highlighted the primary focus of the plant's new management.

"It took 205 years to build this brand, and we will never, ever sacrifice quality," he added.

Check out Door County Wisconsin. Lots of fishing charters in the area for either Lake Michigan or Green Bay. There's also some really good parks and beaches. If you go around when the cherries will be ripe you can pick them at different orchards. There's also some good golf courses if that's your thing.

I've been there multiple times with family and we've done things like:
Charter fishing
Para-sailing
Segway tours
Sail boat day cruise
Mini golf
Hiking trails
Kayaking

It's a nice place but it can be a little tourist trappy around the small towns.

Chicot does have boat rentals.

You may want to look at South Toledo Bend S.P. because Chicot is not exactly close to DeRidder. Looks like they have cabins and boat rentals as well.

You end up with a case of the coon arse.

The next pandemic right there.

Symptoms include:
Excessive use of flagging.
An irresistible urge to leave woods at 8:30.
An ability to cook any living thing in a roux and make it delicious.
I started with 200 superformance and switched to 180 Barnes. Both have killed deer for me but I found the Barnes to group better out of my gun.

On a side note make sure to get good scope rings and mark your scope position somehow you can easily see movement. I have personally seen 3 CVAs have issues with scope movement. DNZ mounts fixed the issue for me.

Someone even sunk giant bamboo for them.

I believe it.

Heard from a pretty reliable source they will be draining the lake again this year.
Heard a good Bass report from IC about a week ago and the YoYos are back up on every stump in the lake but I haven't heard any pearch reports.

I'd give you advice but my bass fishing knowledge is limited to white H&H's on a zebco 33. If they ain't biting that then I'm not catching.

I actually found the American Whitetail to group better through mine. But I guess one can't be to picky these days.

Ladder stand on a fire lane
Good transition area when acorns are falling.
Just glad to be in the woods.
I have a Triton stick steer thats set up exactly the same as the Tracker and I love it. The only mild complaint I have is the center live well takes up more space than I would prefer. If I were looking at the stick steers again I would consider the Xpress crappie stick steer or the 17' War Eagle with the side live well.

As far as the motor option I'm sure the dealer could set you up however you'd like it.

This gonna impact Louisiana much?

Louisiana
o Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge: Open raccoon hunting on acres already
open to other hunting, and expand season dates and hours for migratory bird and squirrel
hunting.
o Catahoula National Wildlife Refuge: Open woodcock hunting on acres already open to
other hunting.
o Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge: Open coyote, beaver, opossum and skunk
hunting on acres already open to other hunting.
• Louisiana/Mississippi
o Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge: Expand season dates for existing goose,
squirrel, feral hog and wild turkey hunting.
o Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge: Expand method of take for existing
white-tailed deer hunting.

That's what I pulled from it.

Look up the Booker Fowler fish hatchery on Google maps zoom out a little then follow Camp Ground Road (its marked as 14 on Google maps) to the lake and try that bridge. You can also go down Joan Stokes road right in front of the Hatchery main office, but I was told they put a gate up somewhere before the lake and it's a long walk to get to that bridge.

Also be aware both those bridges are closed to traffic so dont expect to be able to drive right to them.

did you tell the other boy where we were in Indian Creek

Everybody knows the answer is off the burnt bridge, and if they know enough about the lake to ask which one it's always the one by campsite 7. LOL!
