I can think of a thousand trips I would go on before fighting beach madness on holiday weekends

I couldn't afford 30A, so I'm stuck on the MS Coast in 1Z.

I dont understand the 30A mentality. I go to the beach, to be at the beach. Spending 2 hours in traffic, then 2 hours at a restaurant, to spend maybe 4 hours at the beach in which some security guard might run me off isnt relaxing to me.

Been there, done that. Spent more money to head to Pensacola and actually relax.

It’s not about relaxing, enjoying your time, logistics or value. It’s all about being able to come back home, tell your friends and co workers you went to 30A and have your wife post look@me photos of your trip to 30A on social media

Well back in the day it wasn’t like that. Seaside was the only resort. Other than that it was undeveloped and chill and you actually could relax. Problem is everybody started to go and it became the wine mom riviera. That killed it.

Loving it...

With the whole family, eating popcorn, playing games, just gotta make sure Aunt Edna dont get too deep in the Bloody Mary's b/c she gets a little mouthy.

That whole area has changed so much. When I was a kid we would go to seaside and after sundown we could ride our bikes on an empty 30A and not have to worry about cars.

You can shite on it all you want but I watched all types of families from all ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds making memories with their loved ones this weekend. Watching parents and grandparents dote on their legacies and observing children untainted and uncorrupted by modern social media was very endearing.

Reminded me of all those years my own father would carry me into the surf at Grand Isle or Destin and how
Much I enjoyed (and miss) him.

Anything that fosters and encourages a stronger familial bond is good with me. Whether it be on an Island, Disney World, or a mountain retreat. Just build those memories and bonds with your loved ones. The location is irrelevant.

For some, but that's with all vacations in general. Some of y'all are ate up about 30A. It's some of the nicest beaches on the gulf coast and it's really not debatable.

I'd venture to guess most of the negativity comes from people who have never actually stayed anywhere on 30a

I did a 30A trip almost every year when the kids were younger. Loved them all.

Big fan of drinking a cold one on the beach while under a big umbrella, listening to music while people watching...then taking a big piss in the water.
