The way Alabama is reopening makes absolutely no sense

As of tomorrow in Alabama you can go get you teeth cleaned, where another personal literally puts their hands on your mouth. But you can’t get a freaking haircut.
As of tomorrow you can go to a department store and browse racks of clothes or whatever that God only knows who else had their hands all over moments before. But you can’t go sit in a restaurant where someone cleans each table after anyone uses it.
It makes no sense to leave anything closed. If it’s safe to go on one type of business it is safe to go in all types of businesses. Kay Ivey is an idiot.

I would imagine dentists practice better hygiene than most hair places. They're still a doctors office.

That dirty dishtowel they use to clean tables has more bacteria on it than a Petri dish

So you’re saying a barber or hair stylist is incapable of washing their hands and changing a pair of gloves? I know they’re not “trained medical professionals”. But washing your freaking hands isn’t exactly brain surgery.

And those disgusting plastic menus

Infinitely better. Neither my dentist nor hygienist take a smoke break between patients. They both wear gloves and a mask, and the equipment is thoroughly sterilized before use. I'd imagine many are also going to use dental dams more liberally.
The retail example is fair, but I don't think many people are going to be shopping anyway for a while.

There's this salon owner in Dallas defying the orders to stay closed.
She said the dog groomer next door is considered an essential business and is open but she can't cut hair.

Here's a news flash: None of this has made sense from the beginning. Essential vs non-essential. Curve flattening vs herd immunity. Goal post moving weekly.
At the end of the day, our "leaders" have used this "crisis" to further erode your civil liberties and increase the role of gov't in our lives.

Exactly!

The awareness is not there. There has been AIDS spread through dental work so, yes, the ability to keep it clean is better.

I'd say the barbershop is dirtier than a dentist office.
Never known anyone to get lice from the dentist.

And if you're lucky, with a cleaning product and not just water.

I swear you have to be trolling.
Dental procedures are more essential than a hair cut.
Buying clothes is less of a health risk than eating food prepared by someone else.
I think they should reopen more things, but those make perfect sense logically.

Consider the fact that they’re worried about this but grocery stores, Walmart’s and Home Depot’s everywhere stayed packed. It’s all stupid.

There's really no true middle ground. I was in the Neighborhood Walmart on Coursey yesterday and it was slammed. It was difficult to park there were so many people there. So really, why not open everything? I want to know the true end game here. Are we trying to save everyone? If that's the case, why haven't we had this same reaction for Influenza? Are we supposed to quarantine forever now because the unhealthy could die from a virus? At some point we have to use common sense. Quarantine the sick and those who chose to because of their age or obesity or whatever their comorbidity is.
I saw West Feliciana is opening. Good for them.

Food deliveries haven't stopped in many parts of the country. Just going to the restaurant isn't allowed.

And they toss those gloves away between patients, and sometimes while doing different things with the same patient.
I'm not sure how often they change out there masks. But, I have seen my dentist use a plastic face shield over his mask for certain procedures. (Wore one when he extracted my wisdom teeth)
