A good friend of mine works at one of Drummond’s mines in Columbia. They fly him down and he stays a few weeks at a time until the next guy rotates back. He makes well over six figures.
And Machine sales reps can make in the mid six figure range.

Who the hell are you to make qualitative judgments about who gets to make a living and who does not? I hate it when people make these flippant comments with either no understanding or no concern for what it means. You are saying that despite both people needing to have close contact with other people in order to make money, that you value one more than another so they can make a living and the other one can't.
All of these policies have KILLED small business owners. I pray that you never have to face the reality of the federal/state gov't taking away your primary source of income and not giving you any recourse or compensation for doing so. PPP? fricking joke. Business insurance? Doesn't cover "pandemics". Unemployment? Not for the self-employed or business owners.
The Corona Virus didn't shut these businesses down. The gov't did. Then, realizing they created a bigger problem what did they do? Doubled down on fricking stupid with more gov't solutions to the gov't created problems. When the answer is simple: stop fricking stuff up and get out of our way. When can take care of ourselves.
I feel like I'm in some bizzaro world and not the United States of America. It's insanity.
